> NOW this. Over 61 minutes??? There must be quite some alternate/unused material on there
> (such as the "Overture" on the Varèse release), as the score in the film (without the Power
> Station song) runs 47.10. Add to that about 5 minutes for the song and we're at about 9
> minutes of extra material not in the film

As well as the Airplane music not being released, the film version of the toolshed fight is missing as well. Theres some other small cues too.

... newly remastered and expanded (now running 61:22) ...

Does "expanded" mean "complete" or ...?

this be good news to me.
several years ago, back when i was still a little green, i ordered the club version from ebay, price: around 50 US dollars, which was a good price considering it was being sold at past 100$. i got it, i was happy. then a few years ago a friend of mine played a track from his commando, and i noticed a stronger bassline and some percussion instrument i hadn't heard before. i then checked my copy, and indeed: it was a fake foking bootleg, but a very well made one at that. back when i bought it i was aware of bootlegs, but not this kind, that they carefully copy the arts of a limited edition and sell it as a real one. to my, then uneducated eye, it looked real enough. i now know to look more closely.
so now i'll be getting me a real authentic copy of commando. LLL may be becoming my favorite label of all, and for sure, label of the year now twice in a row.
it's nice when it happens good.

W00t w00t! I was wondering when this would be released. I wonder if it will go the way of the other Schwarzenegger title previously released and now sold out by Varese and reissued to 3000 copies?

Maybe so.

I have the Varese Club release, but put me down for a copy of this as well.

"Solly remember how I told you, wou'd be the last to die?
..........I lied." (Oh ok it may not be verbatim but it is as close as I can get without having watched my laserdisc in several years.)

Wow! And I just watched this, like, two nights ago and was lamenting the fact I'd missed the Varese release. Sold! This is one of my favorite James Horner scores because it has such a different sound from his others.

Allow me to be a stickler for a moment . . .

Matrix: "Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last?"
Sully: "That's right, Matrix! You did!"
Matrix: "I lied."

big grin

Let's bring it back further. . .

Sully: Here's twenty dollars to get some beers in Val Verde. It'll give us all a little more time with your daughter.

Henriques: Heh.

Matrix: You're a funny guy Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last.

Mamet could not have written it better himself.

Mamet could not have written it better himself.

Now you have me picturing John Matrix in a bear costume chasing Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin in The Edge.

As I indicated it has been several years since I watched Arnie cracking wise at the expense of the baddies in this movie. Thanks for the correction on the dialog and for rereleasing the score. The score to this film, 48 Hours and Red Heat are all sort of cousins in the Horner catalog to my mind.

I got a copy of the Varese album last year, and traded it away almost immediately. Terrible score, but for those who missed out, congrats for the repressing.

Now, FINALLY, we can have that wonderful airplane cue.

Whatever happened to the good old days when you could just walk out of a plane mid-take-off after staring down the stewardess with 'I'm ai-ah-seek'?

Well I'm glad you stopped at Arnie's waist line, 'cause I'm assuming he's packin' no undies, too! We just don't need to see that. big grin
