this be good news to me. several years ago, back when i was still a little green, i ordered the club version from ebay, price: around 50 US dollars, which was a good price considering it was being sold at past 100$. i got it, i was happy. then a few years ago a friend of mine played a track from his commando, and i noticed a stronger bassline and some percussion instrument i hadn't heard before. i then checked my copy, and indeed: it was a fake foking bootleg, but a very well made one at that. back when i bought it i was aware of bootlegs, but not this kind, that they carefully copy the arts of a limited edition and sell it as a real one. to my, then uneducated eye, it looked real enough. i now know to look more closely. so now i'll be getting me a real authentic copy of commando. LLL may be becoming my favorite label of all, and for sure, label of the year now twice in a row. it's nice when it happens good.

Wow! And I just watched this, like, two nights ago and was lamenting the fact I'd missed the Varese release. Sold! This is one of my favorite James Horner scores because it has such a different sound from his others. "Solly remember how I told you, wou'd be the last to die? ..........I lied." (Oh ok it may not be verbatim but it is as close as I can get without having watched my laserdisc in several years.) Allow me to be a stickler for a moment . . . Matrix: "Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last?" Sully: "That's right, Matrix! You did!" Matrix: "I lied." Let's bring it back further. . . Sully: Here's twenty dollars to get some beers in Val Verde. It'll give us all a little more time with your daughter. Henriques: Heh. Matrix: You're a funny guy Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last. Mamet could not have written it better himself. MV
