Wonderful, really. Just great. What else to say ?

We're so lucky. Releases we thought we'd never ever see are coming out. Thanks to all who made this one possible.

Fastest intrada order ever!! The original music sounds so much better in the samples than the album. And such clarity!! This will be the highlight of my week and month etc..

A monumental day for soundtrack collectors.

This is one of the few scores left on my Grail List, occupying a place there for many years.

I wonder where the cover art comes from.

Smack dab in the middle it shows the miniseries' two Peters (Strauss and O'Toole) face to face.

Two classic scores by Goldsmith in less than a month (plus the Morton Stevens score)! Does it get better than this?

Now if only Intrada would conduct a nationwide search for the master tapes for "Q.B.VII" (which are lost, though you never know).

Boris Sagal directed Masada – same guy who did The Omega Man. He was well-served by his composers!

I see he died in the same year he finished Masada :-(

I'm only familiar with this through the Varese CD (which is terrific). Fortunately the Intrada is 5000 copies so should be around for a little while yet. If 5000 copies go in the next couple of days I shall not be happy.

It's too bad a remastered original album wasn't included.

Not for those of us who already have it. big grin

He was also Katie Sagal's Father - you might remember her from "Married - With Children"...:-)

In quite a horrific way, actually: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Sagal

And the voice of Turanga Leela on Futurama. wink

As for this album, I'll certainly pick this up, although I'm glad I made a CDR backup copy of the Varese album before I traded it off last year, as Goldsmith's rerecordings tend to be a lot different from the film tracks.

I remember reading about that.

"Sagal was killed in an accident during production of the miniseries World War III, when he was partially decapitated after walking into the tail rotor blades of a helicopter in the parking lot of the Timberline Lodge in Oregon. Sagal was replaced with David Greene the next day."
