The Coolangatta Gold

Great score! But movie completely unknown...
I'm very curious about it

Other favorites :
- Baby Boom
- The Adventures of Huck Finn
- Rookie of the Year
- Napoleon (too bad that the CD is so short and with flawed mixing)

Overall I guess I have to go with the standard ROCKY. He does a lot in that score.

NORTH AND SOUTH is voluminous but wonderful throughout but my favorite, in spite of its brevity, is YELLOWSTONE.

I think I'm going to choose FOR YOUR EYES ONLY wink

And a close runner up would be I,THE JURY which I feel sure will one day make it to CD. I hope so anyway.

Aside from the obvious - the ROCKY and KARATE KID scores, THE RIGHT STUFF - I have a real soft spot for Conti's score to VICTORY.

My favourite is also FOR YOUR EYES ONLY.
a close second comes his score for THE BIG BLUE.

Among my favourite tracks is

Rocky 2 - Main Theme
Rocky 3 - Mickey
I The Jury - Main Title
Ninja Master - Main Title
Spy Hard - The Bridge Is Out

This Theme ranks as my no:1 favourite.

I love For Your Eyes Only, I would like to see Conti return to the series. He always comes up with something interesting. For those who didn't like the disco elements of the score, disco was big back then. Conti could easily come up with a more updated sound for another Bond movie. He's also a great songwriter, he could contribute another song to the Bond franchise. Anyways, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.wink

Conti's Runaway is one of the single best pieces of music ever composed for Bond (and one of the most fun). Love it to death.

I'm glad you like Runaway, I do too. A Drive In the Country is fun as well.smile

Conti's theme for Napoleon And Josephine: A Love Story is also fantastic, same style as North And South. It also has a good score by Gerald Fried. It would make a great release.

Escape to Victory

I'm not a football fan, but I am British.

Classic.

I am neither a football fan or British but I do love this music, what a march, a classic for sure!

"The Right Stuff" for me despite all the "classical" inflections.

Not a Conti fan, but I was really taken by his classical pastiched "The Right Stuff", his only score I really like. One of my favorite movies and the score was a big part of it. "F***in' A bubba!"

[Damn, RM Eastman, you beat me to it by seconds!]

Contis Going the Distance from Rocky is his best cue, followed by Training Hard in Karate Kid. Can music be much more emotional than this? Miyagi Attacks from Karate Kid 2 is also a cool bit of music.
I also love the main theme to Nomads, but the best release of his on cd is the North & South volumes as this is the best TV produced serie and has a really emotional score by him.
I hope there will be more of Contis stuff officially released soon smile

I'm not familiar with a lot of Bill Conti's music, but I really love the scores he did for F.I.S.T., and MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE.

I had never heard of UNCLE JOE SHANNON untill Intrada released it a few weeks ago.

But I must say I liked it quite a bit,
especially Seascape and Uncle Joe Theme.

Another great Conti score is "Five Days From Home". The main theme was later reused for "Lifestyles Of the Rich And Famous". If you're interested you can get an lp copy on ebay from time to time.smile

One score I really enjoy is "Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets". The sound quality isn't so good, but it's great music. I wonder why his Niagara score was never released since his other two IMAX scores were? Maybe someday.
