And a close runner up would be I,THE JURY which I feel sure will one day make it to CD. I hope so anyway.
I love For Your Eyes Only, I would like to see Conti return to the series. He always comes up with something interesting. For those who didn't like the disco elements of the score, disco was big back then. Conti could easily come up with a more updated sound for another Bond movie. He's also a great songwriter, he could contribute another song to the Bond franchise. Anyways, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Conti's theme for Napoleon And Josephine: A Love Story is also fantastic, same style as North And South. It also has a good score by Gerald Fried. It would make a great release.
Not a Conti fan, but I was really taken by his classical pastiched "The Right Stuff", his only score I really like. One of my favorite movies and the score was a big part of it. "F***in' A bubba!"
Contis Going the Distance from Rocky is his best cue, followed by Training Hard in Karate Kid. Can music be much more emotional than this? Miyagi Attacks from Karate Kid 2 is also a cool bit of music. I also love the main theme to Nomads, but the best release of his on cd is the North & South volumes as this is the best TV produced serie and has a really emotional score by him. I hope there will be more of Contis stuff officially released soon
I had never heard of UNCLE JOE SHANNON untill Intrada released it a few weeks ago.
But I must say I liked it quite a bit, especially Seascape and Uncle Joe Theme.
Another great Conti score is "Five Days From Home". The main theme was later reused for "Lifestyles Of the Rich And Famous". If you're interested you can get an lp copy on ebay from time to time.
One score I really enjoy is "Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets". The sound quality isn't so good, but it's great music. I wonder why his Niagara score was never released since his other two IMAX scores were? Maybe someday.
