Wait, does Richie think that the events of Forrest Gump actually happened?

It sure feels that way as a kid watching it. But that applies to a lot of movies.

Wait, does Richie think that the events of Forrest Gump actually happened?

Of course it really happened.

Nixon has a fair amount of material not included on the original release, but most of it was quiet, atmospheric underscore. Williams as usual was very judicious in producing the album, but as a completist I wouldn't mind having the whole thing.

Apollo 13 is historical but not really a "biopic" per se.

Wasn't Cobb later revealed to be largely fabrication on the part of Al Stump? Still technically a biopic I guess.

As much as I'd like to hear every note Williams wrote for Nixon, I can't see him wanting a new version of it out there. Apollo 13 sounds like the right fit, though, despite it not being a traditional biopic.

Broughton's Infinity also might fit the bill.

Apollo 13 is not a "bio" pic. Then again, Batteries Not Included wasn't an "epic" either.

The People vs. Larry Flynt - Thomas Newman?

I think the original album (which included lots of songs) is excellent, and I'm not sure there's that much score missing from the picture anyway. I seem to remember that the score was really cut in and had been moved around in the movie anyway.

How about Chaplin by John Barry?

Yavar

That was released in 1992, just like another possible contender Hoffa. Speaking of Goldenthal, I'd rule out Michael Collins (1996), an actually biographical film from the mid 90s as there's nothing much if anything that is not on the album. I suggest Rob Roy (1995) by Burwell.

There’s actually a decent amount missing in Michael Collins, although most of the unreleased cues tend to be on the subtler side. The album also severely edited and combined cues in all sorts of crazy patterns, and while I think it did so brilliantly, I’d also love to hear a more straightforward release of the complete score.

I believe Roger on the Intrada forum has said no to Nixon and Apollo 13!

Definitely wouldn't mind an expanded Michael Collins but with it being a WB title I suspect it to be more La La Land's territory.

You guys are all way off base. I think the term "bio" is throwing you off.

"Nixon" fits, but I've never been under the impression that the CD was missing a lot of music - wasn't this actually one of those CDs with more music on the album than was heard in the film?

The clue could also point to something more obscure like "8 Seconds" by Bill Conti.

There actually is a fair bit missing on the original release. I always loved Harold’s Funeral music which contains a Mahlerian string theme that moves to the Nixon rising theme. Would buy it in a second!!

Now Roger says that the delayed title is actually in stock now after all, so what was that to be, Another Stakeout? I wouldn't say mid-90s for 1993, either, but time is different on that coast.

Apollo 13?

This isn't a biopic by any definition.
