I really can't get into this reboot. The fantasy element is missing. It's just man against animal. This is the same issue I had with Jackson's King Kong. It was just a giant ape, instead of a man-ape beast.
God, they'll never give up on this freaking franchise, will they?
Not as long as dumb humans keep going to them, and this planet of the greedy, naked capitalist corporate apes (with the worst of those fat-assed-orangs now you know where) keep making money they won't!
And speaking of naked apes (as seen in this trailer) here's a riddle for you....
What do you get if you release a chimpanzee into the Canadian woods in the middle of winter?
Answer: A dead chimp!
What the hell is with these naked apes running around in this snowy movie? Last time I checked these are creatures that evolved in the tropics. Why are there still no clothes on these monkeys? Even Roddy McDowall would have said, "Fuck this gig!" if he had to run around in nothing but a hair suit in the originals.
Anyway, this is still but an extended teaser trailer, promising little more than lots of gun fights and some explosions. There better be more to this movie than that or this franchise might as well be dead.

Why the hell should they? The first two were both a critical and box office success? If you and couple of others here hated the first two, that's fine, bow out the 3rd. But I am definitely looking forward to this one.

I expect an announcement that there will be a fourth film very soon. 20th Century Fox has been milking this concept for fifty years now. They ain't gonna stop.

This series is surprisingly going down the right road. Never thought this reboot would work but man this latest trailer looks great. Looking forward to it and the score.
That's a wrap on War for the Planet of the Apes! We're all really proud of the movie, I hope you all love it as much as we do. ?? pic.twitter.com/9JljBu9ApJ – at Fox Studios
