I fail to understand one wanting "Home Alone" over a major Goldsmith. Oh well. to each their own as the old cliche goes.

I never quite understood the hooplay over STV. Listened to it a couple times, didn't find it all that, and the movie itself was too boring to even get through the whole thing the last time I watched it, the music clearly not helping there.

Home Alone on the other hand, just BRIMS with wonderful melodies everywhere, combined with Williams's typical but lovely orchestration style and a couple fantastic 'set pieces'. I never understood why anyone would poopoo it unless they can't stand a good tune.

The day is here in my hemisphere
Now I must wait at La La Land's gate
And soon they will bring presents that will make us sing
With joy and delight. Others mourn their plight
Of not enough cash. Oh, will it be rash
to wait and see if a sell-out can be?
Can a sell-out come quickly
as others have before?
Or will there be time
(to keep making a rhyme)
and have Santa slip an LLL package under my door?

Oh, what my brain does at 2 in the morning.

Dear me what a set of releases, I only found out this morning when I opened the LaLaLand release email and my jaw dropped when I read ST-V and Home Alone.

Thank you for releasing them, I look forward to buying them though I wish you'd released these earlier in the year when I had more money smile (Wife "why are you buying CD's this close to Christmas" me "I can't help when they release them")

Fingers crossed there is nothing I want in the coming Intrada releases ...

I can't see STV on La La Land's site to order, despite getting an e mail. Am I missing something?

Good question, considering SAE's shipping costs. I'll buy STAR TREK V -- sorry, but the other three are nonevents to me -- later this evening or, God forbid, as late as tomorrow. smile

I listened to some JADE samples and found myself asking for the pain to go away; luckily, it did once I stopped listening. smile

Forgive me if this has been addressed (didn't see mention), but will there be anything missing from STV or HOME ALONE, aside from the unlicensed HOME ALONE tracks listed in the press release?

I know folks are saying STV is complete, but the press release for both titles simply use the words "expanded" or "comprehensive." Thanks guys and thanks LLL - can't wait for these!

JADE is a horrible score and I couldn't ever sit through listening to it, let alone buy a CD!!
I like HOME ALONE, but I don't think there's that much extra that I ever craved. I have the original and that will suffice.
STAR TREK V and BATMAN RETURNS look the most enticing to me. Lots of extra unreleased music that justifies a second splurge in the buying market.

Each of us hides a secret pain. smile (Come on, it's relevant!)

For me that I live in Greece is actually cheaper.
SAE: $7.10 for first disc and $2.10 for each additional disc
LALALAND: $8.00 for first disc and $2.00 for each disc thereafter.

But this is not the point. the difference is minimum.
i just want to purchase from there this time, so as to sent me the spacecamp substitute cd as I've said, because I purchased it from there in the first place..

Where are people going to listen to sound samples for Jade, exactly?

Did I miss something?

So the Star Trek V end title lacks the "legendary" bird screams over the klingon theme? I loved this, along with the elegant Shakaree theme bridge, I recorded it to tape from the film as a kid and was disappointed from the CBS album that featured a rather sterile/boring version.
But then, who signs responsible for this givenly odd editing choice to add some bird screams, if not JG himself? wink
(Sorry if this was answered before, I did look through the thread though)

Anyway, majestic score and a great one to release to Christmas! Thanks very much.

Sal,

The "Bird Screams" may or may not be there in the film version of Life is a Dream. It's likely they are.

Comparing track times between the Album and Film versions of the End Credits, the Sha-Ka-Ree segment is not there, and I actually understand why.

This segment was crudely edited into the End Credits for the film from a different cue (A Busy Man, I think), and was not initially intended to be there. This is an edit I can hear while watching the End Credits of the movie.

I know the music of JADE very well, so while everyone can rant about how horrible it is, that's fine because I'll snap it up as soon as possible since I do honestly, genuinely enjoy how dark, how dissonant, how 'bad' it is.

It's one of my most wanted unreleased Horner scores.
