Not quite LeHah. Sheldon Lettich directed this film (there was a JCVD film soon after that he directed, but I can't remember it's title either).

You're right! I was thinking of The Quest.

However, JCVD *wrote* The Order, so, uh... thats better?

No...Les Weldon wrote The Order.
But you're right, JCVD DID direct The Quest wink

edit..that's weird, wiki says he co-wrote it with Weldon, but the credits in the booklet only state Weldon as the sole writer?

It could be any number of things. Contract, rights, union stuff, etc.

"Had a quick look at the liner notes and the story of how the tapes were lost is quite interesting"
------------------------
Hmmmm, yes.
Although it says the whole 9/11 thing caused the delay and mix problems, it doesn't actually state where the tapes where for the past 19 years!! Just that they went back to the original Tascam DA-88 tapes for a new mix-down.
Maybe Chris Malone could offer more insight?

What did happen?

I know The Cat said back in 2012:

"Unforunately the music to The Order will most likely not be released due to the tapes being heavily damaged due to unforseen problems in the post-production."

So how were they heavily damaged?

The notes only say that the score was to be transported to America for mixing and mastering, but it was the same week as 9/11, so the lock-down meant they were taken privately, via Mexico, then driven to California.
No one knows where they were for the last 19 years and then the notes just say they went back to the original tapes and did a brand new mix-down for this premiere CD issue.

This came late this afternoon. Just finished playing it. It's not bad, though I do think some excellent orchestral/ choral writing is spoilt a tad by some cheap pop style drums. A few more listens I think, maybe I'll warm to it a bit more.
