No, it would be fairly easy to translate. Just a LOT of work, as you say. I've used bits and pieces of it in articles over the years, whenever relevant. Interestingly, I had the cover designed by Jim Titus back in the day, before he became a big-time soundtrack cover designer:

It's just very difficult to translate an academic paper if you are not sure that you can correctly translate all the terminology. By doing that by yourself is a very ambitious project.
