Didn't realise Liverpool had missed a penalty in the first half, too. 3-2. 69mins - Henderson. Good stuff from Liverpool this half. Good and deserved win in the end. Somehow Leeds not given a penalty. VAR fail again. Stunning ineptitude. it's not the technology, it's the monkeys behind the wheel. Leeds having the best of it but on 22-24 mins Willock fails to get a shot away then Almeiron (sp) airshots a clear chance and there's a great save from Joe Linton AKA Joe Ellington AKA Joel Inton, right behind him. Some lovely work by Leeds, particularly down the right. Shot so close on 29mins, would have been a great goal by Phillips but a few inches wide. 35 mins again another good save. Leeds look really great in attack. Then Newcastle hit the post from about 22 yards. Very close. 44m 1-1 St Maximan. from about 16 yards. Leeds had done well keeping chances at bay or stopping threats on the edge of the box. Good finish. The ineptitude of the referee on that missed penalty is shocking. It's clearly a penalty in real-time and the referee has a perfect view from about 8 yards away. The VAR users and referee should be demoted just based on that ineptitude alone. Second half is end to end. Referee has had bad positioning a few times and cpompletely blocks off a newcastle player from shooting on the edge of the box. Fucking idiot. Called the 2-0 defeat because we're off the back of a big win, which means we won't score and we had a crowd of 20,000 and everyone was excited. In the past, whenever that has happened we have been appalling. Doyle missed his usual sitter.
