Hopefully, it might lead to a Blu-ray release of the original series.

I like Supercar, Fireball XL5, and Stingray, and I like Captain Scarlet. Don't care that much for Thunderbirds, though. I think Anderson peaked with Thunderbirds. The prev series are too drawn out, and Captain Scarlett is soooo static. I don't understand the CGI remakes, either (though Anderson was not above making a buck wherever and however he could). The original puppeteering/model work was brilliantly conceived and quite flawlessly executed

The original puppeteering/model work was brilliantly conceived and quite flawlessly executed I went through a phase back in 2003/2005 where I rented all these shows on DVD from Netflix. I hadn't seen Supercar since I was a little kid back in the early sixties. I was surprised at how dark the show often was. Very much a Cold War show for kids. There's an episode involving an A-bomb. I had no memory of Fireball XL-5 and that was a wonderful discovery, a very cute show, as was Stingray. All those shows were a half-hour per episode, but Thunderbirds was an hour, but not because it had more story, but was just padded-out with model action sequences. After a while it got boring. Same thing with Captain Scarlet. I appreciate the greater realism of it, but it quickly becomes just more of the same and with little humor. Although I like it and have the entire series on disc, unlike the other shows, which I watched completely, I've yet to finish CS.

Here's what I won't miss as this is translated to computer animation - inserts of actual hands for close-in shots. Hands that have to move just about as little as the puppets's hands do. By far the creepiest solution possible.

Listening now to my Captain Scarlet CD. I've had this for ages, but for some reason, I haven't spun it as much as the Thunderbirds, perhaps because I had more of a connection to them. This album is really good, lots of jazzy stuff, plus photo-space 1999 music, and less of the heroic music that intrudes into Thunderbirds. Remind me to spin this one more often. Yes. Great CD and fantastic Fanderson set, beautifully produced in each case. "White as Snow" must be both the greatest AND most annoying ear worm ever. Can't get it out of my head.
