"I'm on episode 4 Kev. There's some decent laughs in it and I like the main guy, he really makes it worth watching. It's light good fun" ------------------------ Yeah, light good fun just about sums it up, Ob. I like him bickering and arguing with the little kid who can see his true form. Ep 3 got a bit deeper with the the sad back story of the native American girl. The bar girl flirting with the alien guy was funny too.

Doctor Who starring Jon Pertwee - My Doctor, and my umpteenth trawl through his time and nearing the end now. Definitely the best era for me with little Jo-Jo Grant, and the UNIT mob headed by the wonderful Brigadier Lethbridge Stuart. When all else fails this period of this show always cheers me up. Hick, it always amazed me that for a brigadier it was odd that he only ever had command of about 4 men (the same 4 men) and, at the most, 2 jeeps! Ah, but what a team! Actually the regulars only amounted to two. But 'who's counting when we have quality? We have Sgt Benton and Capt Mike Yates. Ruddy marvelous. There were actually one or two others that made distinctive appearances, but that's essentially it. And can I just say we did on occasions have the UNIT helicopter? If we're going to worry about the size of the cast we're onto a downer. There's PLENTY to complain about. Making Star Wars on the budget of Coronation Street for starters. But we won't go into that. We will simply say that in the UK Doctor Who was always the mainstay for any kid who loved sci fi. Always there, plowing on where other series, on the commercial side (looking at you Gerry Anderson) or Hollywood folded. There were always silly bits. But my, when the gems came they were better than bloody Star Wars anyday! And I am unanimous in that, as Mrs Slocombe used to say...

The Witcher One episode in, and it's a right load of mouldy old bollocks. Henry Caville, who can be decent in things, lumbers himself with a tough guy gruff voice, and is as wooden as oak. There's a battle early on between two armies, neither side is well established; who they are or why we should care. The tactics were Game of Thrones-style level moronic, infantry just running into cavalry. Axes and swords cut through plate mail, somehow. The exposition dumps are long and boring. It's a plodding, unendearing mess (after 45 minutes). The music seems okay. Nudity included probably because it worked for Game of Thrones. Just waiting for the first pointless "cool" use of a C-word. Lots of characters die in the first episode but we don't know them very well or at all, so it has less emotional impact than receiving a gas bill. I'd give up on it now but my mate wants to watch it. I'd probably like the computer game because I liked Skyrim V.

WALKING DEAD Seasom 10. We usually catch up one year late, since we watch the series on Amazon Prime.

I managed to get all way through The Witcher. Despite the shortcomings I think there's a reasonable series trying to get through. I DO though so agree with Cavil's voice. What are they thinkin? Corny as hell. If I was in charge I'd say to hell with continuity and start season 2 with a normal voice. But the Toss A Coin To Your Witcher was such an earworm I ended up buying the great value (two disc) cd of the score which is quite good. Anyway, we're enjoying kidnap drama Big Sky at the moment on Disney +. Not bad so far. Oh, and just finished Invasion of the Dinosaurs last night in my Jon Pertwee Doctor Who rewatch. The very example of those stories even Who fans are embarrassed to be seen watching! Actually much of the filming on deserted London streets is great... and then the dinos show up. I have nothing more to say..lol.

Allen vs Farrow I really don't know what to say other than, "Just damn". I always thought the Soon Yi and Allen scandal was weird enough and heard what I wanted to hear about it. But this well done HBO docuseries pretty much cements Allen's reputation to forever to be known as a pederast. The series is detailed and presents a myriad of never really discussed or sometimes never seen evidence, and then it shows what exactly we were seeing in his films as blatant window into what this guy was really into: sexually attracted to prepubescent and underage girls, in particular, his adopted daughter Dylan. Yes, to put it out there, the series is pretty much one sided. Not even Allen gave interviews or his side of the story and for all intents and purposes, no one else did either. Having said that, there is a mountain of in your face evidence from court transcripts and some jaw dropping recorded phone calls between Woody and Mia. There is so much that occurred that it's impossible to list here but the bottom line, what was once a truly idyllic family life that began n the 1980's was destroyed by a sledgehammer in the early 90's and nearly ruined a beautiful young girls life, not to mention careers and the family as a whole. I challenge any Woody Allen film fam who makes it through all 4 episodes of to be ever able to watch any of his films again. The series lays out the evidence in meticulous fashion and while again it is one sided, it's flat out undeniable. And if you don't believe me, just listening to Dylan's interviews and testimonies is enough on its own.
