From a recent conversation in another thread... (players: nxbusby, losher22, and myself) ~-~-~-~-~-~-~- I miss it very much. In my opinion, there will never ever be a greater show then Lost. I love Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones, but as good as they are, theres just that certain something that Lost had, that was just so fantastic. Can never be topped. I couldn't be more obsessed with Breaking Bad - thanks for mentioning it. In my humble opinion, the ONLY thing that series is missing is more music! And yet, that's one of the cache characteristics of the show - I almost don't miss music's presence. Awesome you guys...cuz Breaking Bad is at the top of my list of shows to watch. Very much looking forward to it. But first I will finish my Lost revisit, then pick back up with Damages Season 3. I was going to go the Sons of Anarchy route after that, but I keep thinking more and more (and hearing it from others) that Breaking Bad earns priority. Unless Season 4 of Damages becomes available on Netflix streaming before I finish Lost, Breaking Bad will be next up. And of course, when Season 7 of Supernatural is released, that gets immediate attention, as does Season 6 of Dexter...neither of which have announced their release dates. I also desperately want to revisit one of my all-time favorites that I've only seen all through once, Alias. Outstanding series, that. But that is another story for another time. DeputyRiley... Yes, season 7 of SUPERNATURAL is a major priority when it is released (we have talking about this several times offline). Looking forward to the second season of NIKITA when it's released. I just started a re-visit of the Peta Wilson LA FEMME NIKITA series from the 90's... next will be ALIAS (one of my top 5 favorites of all time)... afterwards will be BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, LOST and FRINGE. Lot's to watch. But, looking forward to it.

Recently watched Justified season 3 (terrific), Justified season 4 (not the series' best), I thought Season 4 was the show's best season yet, even edging out Season 2 for me. I liked that it had a central mystery involving all the characters instead of another "villain of the year" plot. Season 3, despite some nice stuff, I thought ended up being underwhelming, especially with how Neal McDonough never really got to shine as the bad guy. There was definitely good and bad for season 4. I liked that Shelby ended up being Drew Thompson but I never got a good grasp as to who Thompson was as a character. I thought t was odd how Limehouse was such a central character to season 3 and then all but vanished in season 4. The subplots for season 4 were what lowered the season's quality for me: the snake handler, the errant prostitute on the run, Raylan's grifter love interest, Johnny's betrayal...not my favorite stuff. I did really enjoy Ron Eldard's run as the junkie ex-soldier, the return of the delightfully creepy Wynn Duffy, and the Boyd/Ava relationship. I thought the death of Arlo Givens was handled very well and Timothy Olyphant really shone in that aftermath. I liked how the Drew Thompson case had ties to every faction in and around Harlan as well as Detroit. I wished they'd done more with Adam Arkin's barely-seen ubervillain...he was in one episode and then only mentioned by name all through the rest of season 4 even though he was one of he major forces at work. Presumably he'll surface more prominently in season 5? I liked in season 3 the dual villain scenario, how you could never tell who was worse: Limehouse or Quarles...although eventually you did figure out who was worse, as Quarles' character became more and more unhinged and psychotic as the season came to a close. I actually think McDonough really did shine. I liked in season 3 how they dealt with the fallout from Mags' death in season 2. Also, season 3 had an appearance by the incomparable Dewey Crowe, but I don't remember seeing him in season 4! Finally, they should have left Dickie in season 2, he was good in that season but has been nothing but irritating as a character and useless to the storylines.

Recently finished: ER SEASON 4 -- Probably one of the greatest seasons of the show, with constant and consistently riveting storylines and great guest stars, with the perfect blend of main cast. FRINGE SEASON 2 -- Season1 was very good, but oh my Season 2 was stellar. There were some frustratingly dull filler episodes peppered through the middle of the season, but otherwise fantastic storylines and character development throughout. The final several episodes were some of the greatest science fiction writing and narrative that I've ever seen, enjoyably complex, not talking down to the audience but taking them for a fun and unpredictable ride that ended with a spectacular cliffhanger. JUSTIFIED SEASON 5 -- Just wrapped up last night. Easily the best season of this program. Awesome performances in every single episode, a terrific roster of guest stars, constant and brilliantly written tension and intensity via character conflict -- white-knuckle, nail-biting suspense and clever surprises. The Crowe clan, along with the Detroit Mob, Dixie Mafia, assorted drug- and gun-thugs, and Crowder's Crew made for a thoroughly satisfying menagerie of menace for Raylan and the marshals to tangle with. The Crowe family was a spectacularly written dysfunctional crime family in operatic, grand style, and the acting by Alicia Witt, Michael Rapaport, and A.J. Buckley (easily season 5's MVP) was exemplary. A.J. Buckley's despicably evil Danny Crowe, with a soft spot for his pooch, joins Margo Martindale's Mags Bennett as the best villain the show's ever had (Boyd too, it goes without saying). Likewise, bumping Jere Burns's delightfully calm and articulate Wynn Duffy and Damon Herriman's delightfully spastic and doofy Dewey Crowe up to prominent series stars was a wise move.

As I've written elsewhere, I was convinced to watch the first 4 episodes of season 1 of "Orange Is The New Black" yesterday, and the second disc is due to arrive tomorrow. But if you're asking about EVERYTHING we're watching these days: Hardball With Chris Matthews The Ed Show All In With Chris Hayes The Rachel Maddow Show The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell Up With Steve Kornacki Jeopardy! America's Got Talent True Blood Real Time With Bill Maher Crisis (but now cancelled) Believe (ditto) The Good Wife Meet The Press NBC Nightly News And soon: Big Brother and Under The Dome Yes, too much TV, and that doesn't even touch upon what I see on HBO and Cinemax and Showtime and about 300 other HD channels! Need to cut back on some of these!
