I have a distinct memory of a very early episode where Beaver refers to his friend Frankie Mondelo. Can anyone here second this glitch?

Well there were Larry Mondello, Whitey, Richard, Gilbert, et al. among Beaver's friends if that helps. And I highly recommend "Beaver on TV" which slays me via Gilbert's theory on the strange goings on. And there was also Benjy Bellamy and Chuckie Murdock. And on the episode "Beaver On TV" Gilbert even makes reference to "The Twilight Zone".

Here's a joke: Eddie (to June): Gee Mrs. Cleaver that's a nice dress. Beaver: Then why aren't you wearing it Eddie?

That was a good one. Another classic: "Gus and the Net" I won't go into detail about it. The Beaver people will know which one it is.

Season 6/23 BOX OFFICE ATTRACTION aka Wally and the "Bad Girl." Wally's date is a young woman who (gasp) smokes and drinks beer! Tony Dow played somewhat against type in the Dr. Kildare episode "Four Feet in the Morning" (3/9). "A pregnant teenager is admitted to Blair [Hospital} with signs of food poisoning, the result of an apparent attempt to induce abortion. Meanwhile, the father of the baby [Dow], getting little help from his bickering parents, struggles with his responsibility. The parents of the girl are also of little help in the situation. This is Part One of a two-part story, the conclusion being shown on the series "The Eleventh Hour".—rbecker28 imdb

This is one of my favorite shows, but I only really discovered it much later in life than most. My parents, well really my grandmother who sort of controlled the TV as she lived with us, watched "Father Knows Best" and "The Donna Reed Show", but Grandma didn't much care for "Leave it to Beaver." I think it was probably too quirky for her tastes, and she was much more at home with the flat-out sentimentality of the other family sitcoms at the time. We never ever watched "Star Trek" because on our cable system it was opposite "Bonanza" which was one of her favorites. I do remember that for some reason we watched the head-caught-in-a-fence episode, and she laughed at that one at least. I recall that Eddie Haskell just made her sort of nervous and unsure how to react to his scenes. This thread is a reminder that I haven't watched any of the show in years, so I'll try to find a streaming source and have a binge!

Just watched the episode that introduced Lumpy. He bullies Wally and Beaver so Ward tells them that when he was a kid he got back at a bully by lining the bully's back alley with barrell hoops and then Ward called him names to get him to chase after him. Of course, this is what Beaver and Wally did to Lumpy--except that Fred Rutherford runs out instead. I'd call it a classic--but aren't they all?

Just watched the incredibly funny "I want to see Mary Jane" episode with Benjy as collateral damage.

Just want to thank the participants of this thread for again bringing "The Beav" into my life. I ordered the box set, and it arrived last week. I've been going through the series sequentially, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect as the past weekend was stressful in oh so many ways, and revisiting the Cleavers, their friends, and their classmates took my mind off of a load of worries. Just a wonderful series! Thank you all again.
