I'll be upset if I missed this. But I'm hopeful that it is only temporarily out of stock.

But the real shocker for me is that when I bounced over to the Disney website I realized that I was missing one of their earlier Legacy releases - The Aristocats. Now I'm wondering if there are any other gaps in my collection.

I missed the Aristocats too. Be careful the CD appears to be “out of print”. Only thing available is artwork of the cover. It’s really misleading, I thought I was ordering the CD when it was just the art print.

You've got to be kidding?! That's absolutely misleading.

They've completely removed the product from the D23/2022 page. It was still listed even though they were out of stock the last time.

This is shocking and hugely disappointing to me. I missed both tiny windows of availability for this score, which I was anticipating eagerly since this series began. This film is massively popular, of course, but not exponentially more so than the other three big renaissance films (TLM, BATB, TLK), so I don't understand why every prior release is still available and this one was gone in a matter of days. Is it possible they pressed way fewer of them to begin with?

I feel your disappointment. I've never had a problem purchasing a Legacy edition. Surely some are more popular and covered than others, but this is ridiculous. What baffles me is that there are none on eBay or Amazon listed by the usual grifter trying to make a ridiculous profit. It reminds me of the Morning Glory - blooms and dies the same day. frown

Still not giving up - enjoying the digital release for the time being.

Hopefully its just out of stock again and will reappear in due time. I mean if its selling this well they'd be nuts not to print more. We're also having a continued global supply chain issue.

I do wonder why this title is so scarce? Confounding things are Disney's apparent decision to make the Legacy Collection an exclusive item on their website now. I believe this trend started with The Hunchback of Notre Dame Legacy Collection. All others were available from third party vendors.

I wonder too Solium. I was able to get Hunchback about 2 months ago from the Emporium site. Embarrassed to say that I missed that one initially.

Thanks for the sympathy. And yes, I bought a couple of these at Barnes & Noble in the past (whose website is still selling ten of them, all from the original, pre-Robin Hood series, including the box set). Limiting it like this seems self-defeating, but what do I know?

Anyone email them recently? They're not much help, but I think they did answer if more were coming previously.

Awesome score! I bet that's something Disney would let Intrada do. I'm still surprised Intrada hasn't done The Great Mouse Detective yet.

Either Varese did end up getting perpetuity rights to The Great Mouse Detective or Disney wants to do it themselves (as Roger revealed that they plan on doing with Rescuers, Mulan, and Atlantis). Those are the only two reasons I can think of for the lack of an Intrada release for that score.

I just hope the non availbaility is due to shortage of stock from the plant. That seems to be the major issue with all labels having to wait for inventory to be maintained.

Well, it seems to be available again on their new clunky flash driven "virtual" store.

It's still not available on the regular section of the website. Talk about hiding something in the weeds!

I couldn't even order on their site when it was first available. It would not allow me to register/signup. So I did the PayPal checkout option.

Their site is really terrible.

Here's a different story concerning orders at the disneymusicemporium and one that I don't really understand.
Maybe someone can help me out there?

I ordered the CD early on and now am one of the lucky who is right now holding it in his hands. Yay!
However I'm not sure if disneymusicemporium didn't pull a trick on me concerning the money I paid.

As an international customer living in Europe I was surprised that I was charged additional taxes (19%).
After all I assumed that the price of the CD shown on the website is actually the price of the CD.
At least that's what I'm used to when buying CDs from Intrada, La-La Land, Varese ...

So this tax made me wonder. I made some calculations and came to the result that most likely I've had to pay the custom taxes for Germany in advance. This I had already experienced though not when buying soundtrack CDs.

Well turns out it wasn't customs, which I had to pay on top of these other taxes!
I contacted disneymusicemporium and was told that this was a "VAT tax".
I think I do understand what this term might mean, but I do not understand why it seems I only have to pay it at disneymusicemporium?
Did they mess anything up or is there a new rule at work for international customers?

Any information regarding this matter would be highly appreciated!

P.S.: It doesn't really help that I just can't find any information at all on the disneymusicemporium website regarding international shipping. Oh how I wished these CDs were available someplace else!

That appears to be the LP version from what I can see.

Also, it's back in stock now as of this morning!

Same thing happened to me 5 minutes ago with the same cd. The final price was $7.00 higher than expected. Not a big deal but still...
I'm in France, not in Germany, by the way
