I have a gut feeling that we Batman score fans will be rewarded this year.

At 45 minutes I think it will be a great listening experience just like Batman forever. I would be very happy with a complete score , but I'd rather have an album that makes me think "I wish there was an expended release". If that makes any sense

Yes. As a general thing I'd rather have an album that leaves me satisfied and ready to go back for more than one that's overstuffed, outstays its welcome and starts to exhaust or bore me.

I seriously hope so! More Shirley Walker & co, Danny Elfman and Elliot Goldenthal would be just the thing :-)

BATMAN & ROBIN is a pretty rich score. I think all of it loaded onto a soundtrack album might overwhelm many. 50-60 minutes of major highlights would just about do it -- that way you could include all of the opening museum sequence, moments in between and the 12+ minute finale and not overstay your welcome.

I would personally like the complete score.
I wonder when LaLaLand plans on releasing it...

I concur! When and where is this clip from anyway?

A Q&A session hosted by the Film Music Network, simply named "An Evening With Elliot Goldenthal". I'm not sure which year, unfortunately, but I got it myself about 3-4 years ago, so it must be older than that. Perhaps someone else can fill me in.

I seem to remember hearing in an interview Goldenthal mentioning that he did prepare an album of Batman and Robin for release around when the film came out, but that it wasn't followed through on by Warner. He sounded rather bitter about it, as he made special mention of carefully assembling the album to emphasize the new material.

Does anybody else recall this or am I misremembering something I heard years ago...?

I've got the album (don't ask where did I get it, I won't tell). The only thing that I am not satisfied is with the poor cues selection. There are 15 tracks on the album (46min). The majority of the cues are mixed up together, but there are just a few highlights (altough it contains some alternate takes and variations on Poison Ivy's sarcastic jewish theme). In terms of presentation and cue selection I think 'Batman Forever' is way better.

The score is great, but the mix and selection of the cues could have been better. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe it is not the Goldenthals selection...I hope so. You could hear some alternate takes in French version on B&R SE. The Robin's first intro. at the museum (alternate theme, the original is better). Another one is the 'villains' theme which you hear during the Arkham scene when Ivy says 'his name is Bane' and there's another one...can't remember.

Hot damn, you're one lucky SOB, Opus. I've been looking high and low for that particular presentation for years, without luck. I've had to make do with the crappy-sounding 2CD bootleg that we're not supposed to talk about.

So COME ON, LABELS!! What are you waiting for?

Go on YouTube and search for cues. They are on there.

I think a presentation along the lines of LaLaLand's Godzilla would be very nice. With a playlist from the what the original album was going to be, as mentioned. However I also really wouldn't mind the original album, maybe plus some additional material. I enjoy Goldenthal's Batman music and the AMAZING playing (especially in the brass) by the LA orchestras on both & Robin and Forever, so any kind of presentation of the original score would be MOST welcome!! Com'on MV, we know you're reading this, in the classic words of Captain Picard, 'Make it so!' :-D

As you may have already surmised, I am a HUGE fan of the Bat (although, I do LOATHE some incarnations). That said, I would still love to release everything Batman music related. Perhaps one day I will do so. Only time will tell.

Where incarnations are you not a fan of, if I may ask?

Let's just say I prefer the Elfman's over the Goldenthals and Zimmers/Howards. Also, THE BATMAN (not Shirley's) animated series was just plain AWFUL!

Yeah, The Batman is a far cry from the brilliance Dynamic Music Partners could have offered the show.

By the way, cool monkey in a Flash suit :-)
