Although many of them can be good movies, after a hard's day work watching a film where you have a couple yelling and shouting about everything can give me a headache. In short it is because it is so well done in a dramatic sense that if I am not in the mood for those scenes, off goes the TV. I know better after work not to see such films in the cinema. Just have to be in the right mood for those films.
So far it never happened for a whole movie however when I went to the theatre/cinema to watch the movie "Hannibal" there where one scene when Hannibal is eating from a man`s brain. That scene I could not watch, I had to turn away. That was the only time I could not watch a specific scene in a movie I saw at the theatre/cinema. And I`ve seen my fair of movies since I have worked as a filmcritic about almost ten years ago.
I remember leaving the cinema during the flagellation scene in "Passion of the Christ". I was close to throwing up by that stage.
Dry retching during the "hilarious" scene in American Pie 3 where Stifler eats a dog turd. Still...I watched American Pie 3....I probably deserved that one.
And I agree with Firsth Breath....Hostel. I turned it off during the first torture scene. Just vile.
There's nothing that makes me feel like vomiting more than seeing other people vomiting. So my vote goes to the disgusting Mr Creosote in MONTY PYTHON'S THE MEANING OF LIFE. I wanted to post a YouTube link, but I'd only spend hours trying to get the half-digested Rice Krispies out from between the keys on the keypad.
