And I don't say that because she also looks quite nice wink but because she has written a number of listenable and inspired scores which really stand out in today's non-thematic and nondescript film music wasteland:

Reading the name, I didn't even know she was a woman (She originates from Turkey, I think)! Yesterday I saw THE RIVER MURDERS, a rather by-the-numbers cop / serial killer flick, a great bit more watchable thanks to Mrs. Toprak's haunting and deeply melancholy score, complete with choir. On her website there are extensive samples of her work but there don't seem to be any score CDs, or am I mistaken? It says "Sony" somewhere on the RIVER MURDERS sound clips subpage but I haven't found anything on amazon.

Wow! Those are indeed very impressive sound clips playing on her very professional website. Much better than I was expecting, in fact! Thanks for pointing us in her direction and sign me up as interested in all of her future projects...

She's fantastic. THE LIGHTKEEPERS is amazing (an IFMCA Award winner)

And you have to check out THE WIND GODS. It made my Top 10 list last year!

Have a listen.

Great thread! I'm a HUGE fan of her contributions to the Ninety-Nine Nights video game score, which is where I first heard of her. I've been meaning to pick up The Lightkeepers score for a while now, but haven't done so yet. It's the only other score of hers besides NNN that seems to be available on CD, but I haven't done an immense amount of digging.

But every score of hers seems to be available in its entirety (?) in good quality on her website for listening. Isn't that something?!

I just stumbled over this composer myself and find much of her music quite engaging. Since there are no albums, does anyone know a user-friendly program (Windows 7/8) to grab the music from the website sound samples?

Thanks in advance.

Since taking a lucky punt on THE LIGHTKEEPERS in a SAE sale, it's been a constant joy to discover the wonderful film music of this composer.
There were some obvious Thomas Newman temp-track-isms in LIGHTKEEPERS (and also in the softer moments of THE WIND GODS), but there is a lovely, shining new voice to be heard generally in her music.
She can write themes. Her orchestral chops are really strong and even her lower budget (MIDI and small ensemble) early scores, (RIVER MURDERS and SINNER) are highly polished and constantly engaging and listenable.
I'd love to see her go on to bigger projects and retain her distinctive style.
I am thoroughly enjoying her music at the moment.

So far, I have found RIVER MURDERS/SINNER, THE LIGHTKEEPERS and THE WIND GODS on CD, plus some tracks of hers on the NINETY NINE NIGHTS Video Game CD.
Am I missing any? (I know she has put her scores on her website, which is under construction at the moment).

I strangely bought The Lightkeepers last year on a whim, but only gave it a cursory listen and thought it was just "ok". Seeing this thread a few weeks ago, I gave it another listen and was really impressed at how lovely it was...agree with others who mention shades of Thomas Newman (which can only be a good thing, IMHO). I'm excited to try some of her other scores (although it's a pretty limited selection). Wind Gods sounds particularly good.

I'm also a fan. Too bad her site seems to be under construction at the moment.

Just saw a thread about The Wind Gods, listened to the samples and immediately purchased the Caldera lossless download + another Caldera release by Toprak., The River Murders/Sinner.

Impressive music. Sorry, I'm late to the party.

Don't apologise Peter, you made good time.
Based on what's out there so far, hopefully, the party's only just beginning smile
And don't forget THE LIGHTKEEPERS, a lovely Americana/Thomas Newman inspired score available from Movie Score Media.

Let's keep this thread going. Is anyone out there aware of what she may be working on right now? Website under construction. The Wind Gods is a masterpiece, and The Lightkeepers is very very good. The River Murders also ranks highly.

She also contributes a lovely piece on a Tina Guo 'Composers for Charity' CD, which is only available on Spotify/download sites etc.

The most recent thing she did that's out there is additional music for JUSTICE LEAGUE.

I've just got The Lightkeepers - agree with Kev: very good, a bit Newman-ish; also a bit Rachel Portman-y too. Certainly one to watch out for, let's hope she retains the freedom to be lyrical/melodic and doesn't get squished into the generic mould... :-)

I think I saw that she is composing music for the new TV series, Krypton as well.

I visited the orchestra's website and they show Bear McCreary. I guess however many episodes he did, were rejected, as all the other credits on their page, we already recorded.

It's interesting to note that she credits* Hans Zimmer as helping her get her early experience and footing in the industry and William Ross as helping her hone her orchestration and composing skills.

*in the audio interview at the end of the RIVER MURDERS/SINNER CD.
