I ordered various CD's from various sellers leading up to Christmas, including FAMILY PLOT, HOME MOVIES and CARRIE. Everything has arrived except this title and FIRST BLOOD (making my order FLESH + (FIRST) BLOOD) from MovieMusic. It's hasn't been 3 weeks yet since posting, so I'm not stressing or anything, but I am eager to hear the cleaned up sound and extra music. I will return here with my (garbled) opinions upon its arrival. The waiting is sometimes the best part (but not always).

No "Blood" either way, yet you seem remarkably sanguine about it...

This is another CD that has been 'knockin' my socks off'. Again (like a broken record), the old LP programme is so ingrained in my brain, that I can hear the downbeat of the next cue, at the end of every last track, so it's disconcerting when it doesn't happen. Hence, I've got an LP and separate bonus programme on my mp3. The improved sound is really good, although things I heard from the older recording are now more subdued. It's a weird trade-off, but I still have the old recording, so it's all good in the hood. It's a great looking CD. Cool booklet, notes, stills etc. I just can't decide which cover I prefer, as both are gaudy, colourful and lush. I haven't seen the film in years. I must search out a copy on DVD. I enjoyed it (and all its debauchery) when I saw it at the cinema and on video in the many years ago.

Somehow I missed Intrada's release of this. I was just listening to the Prometheus release this evening (it's a divine score) and was curious what other FSM'ers thought of it and discovered it had been rereleased This one sold out rather fast. Almost in a weeks time but once it sold on INTRADA's website there was still time to find it on other sources. I bought one the day of announcement and another from SAE when it was sold out with the intent of trading it off only to have a good friend ask me for it. Really great score but I don't believe essential if you have the previous release.

If you lost F+B this might interest you: "If you bought the Varese Sarabande CD Club issue of FLESH + BLOOD for it's unique appeal, you later found Prometheus improving on it and issuing it again. Frustrated? Well, after that disappeared, we improved on it yet again. And THAT disappeared. No doubt some enterprising label is readying it a fourth time." Doug 9/8/11, from a post concerning the new Intrada policy So don't waste money on ebay for it, just wait If another label does release it again will it sound as good as Intrada's version? I mean they will have access to the film score master and not the master Intrada made for their release right?

I hope it does get reissued for those of you who didn't get the Intrada. I did get it, and I LOVE it. It's an awesome score! So my fingers are crossed for you guys out there who missed out!
