I'm only going off what MV said. Beyond that, I don't know anything.

Nov 30th 2015

"I think (99.9% certain) both Supergirl and Legend rights are in perp with Silva so they would be the ones expanding those

MV"

Maybe too early for April. But Warner has just announced a new Supergirl (84) Blu-Ray for July. Would not be surprised if this means finally the ultimate release of Goldsmith's score by LLL.

Once can wish/hope.

MV said that one is Silva in perpetuity.

Either MV is wrong or bluffing:

From Silva:

"Thanks for your e mail.

I wanted to do a vinyl release of this recently, but at the moment we can't re-release it. Hopefully it will be resolved at some point in the near future.

Regards
Anna"

Not really, depends on the specific details of the Silva Screen contract.

Could be money issue, or it could be related specifically to LP distribution vs. CD.

Could be almost anything.

Remember Varese also released this too. So I wouldn't be so sure it means only Silva can release future versions.

I have no doubt there has been complicated issues with Supergirl. But now with the Blu-Ray finally coming, it might mean doors are opening up.

It should be noted that Varese released their version before Silva negotiated their license, and put out their (excellent, IMHO) expansion.

Beyond that, it's speculation as to who/when/if Supergirl can be revisited.

After all these years they are finally going to release Alfred Hitchcock's THE BIRDS.

You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this. Begging for the record companies such as La-La Land to release this and all I got from them was silence.

Well, Friday the 13th Parts 2 & 3 have been available for a while so it's not that.

Maybe the soundtrack to the game?

My guess is Apollo 13 since accident occurred on Friday April 13th. Though seems odd a launch so close to the 10th

Don’t celebrate too early. I’ve heard it is a re-recording.

The Birds? has NO music in the film as it was all soundscapes, unless they've found the unreleased masters or is it a re-recording of sounds! Oskar Sala & Remi Gassmann are prime candidates for their use of the early synth - the Trautonium for this score!

The question is not if, but when for Supergirl:

"Thanks for your interest in our label. We no longer have any rights on this release.

Regards

PETER COMPTON
Marketing / International Manager

SILVA SCREEN RECORDS LIMITED"

I'm sticking with my theory we will be getting Supergirl by LLL until MV says no, which he hasn't. smile

Yikes! Really ? If so, then it's just a matter of time before LLL tackles it, if they haven't already completed work on it . That would be wonderful

Also 4/13 is a Friday, so there's that. Pretty sure MV mentioned recently here about another standalone release in the F13 series.

Or could be the possible Friday the 13th: The Game score that MV said they were working on a long time ago.

Perhaps an LP of the oft-requested CHINA SYNDROME film version, expanded, of course.

MV, If you don't have this on your slate, you might want to pursue it.

You'll get sales. smile

If Mr Compton at Silva is correct and they no longer have the rights to release it, I'd be astonished if one of LLL, Varese and Intrada aren't already on to it.

I have heard from a reliable source that they will re-score Derek Jarman's "Blue" with the score for "The Birds" and release it as an extended cut with a running time of 240 minutes smile

Best,
Burnie

I don't think its coincidence Silva has no rights and the first Blu-Ray is coming soon from Warner.

You wouldn't by any chance have a source for that?
