Jeff, There is a mistake in your liner notes. The title design for "Altered States" was by R/Greenberg Associates. Not Adam Greenberg. (whoever that is) Adam Greenberg was the director of photography on Terminator & Terminator 2 for James Cameron.

R/Greenberg Associates indeed created many of my favorite title sequences of the era, and may be most famous for the influential opening title design for: A L I E N : ) As a Creative Director with a design/art direction background, any of us in the profession can totally support the claim that those tracked out letters ushered in a massive trend for widely kerned type that is still going strong today. I also ripped off the criss-crossing letters of Altered States all through Art School in the early 80's, LOL. I was about to resurrect my "In Praise Of Jeff Bond" thread to thank him for how much I enjoy his notes, as the Altered States booklet was as enjoyable as the best of his work. So I'll thank you in my usual slavish way right here Jeff, to take away the sting of someone fact-checking you. I love reading your work as much as I love the music. In fact, I was on the fence about whether or not to buy the new release of Altered States, as I still have the original LP in pristine shape as well as the RCA cd. But it's a landmark score for me, and when I saw you were doing the notes, that tipped the scales. Great rerelease with stunning sound, and the usual Luxe Bond notes. If any one is in doubt about re-buying this one, don't be...grab it!

After all I spent a decade with those guys and wanted them to get their due. It was a very interesting time to be working in NYC. At the time Altered States was in production I worked at 850 7th Ave, the same place where Paddy Chayefsky had his office. I spoke with him in the elevator about his dissatisfaction with Ken Russell. The Carnegie Deli was on the first floor and everybody in NYC show business ate there. Now it's gone. Where did you go to school? Pratt or SVA? I went to Pratt.

Where did you go to school? Pratt or SVA? I went to Pratt. It's neat seeing a Pratt alum around here. I just graduated from Pratt a few weeks ago.
