That's what Brad Fiedel told me recently so I'm sure it's true. When I asked him about it, he told me that he'd already mention this in several interviews.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit!
Whatever the case, The Terminator deserves a MUCH better release than Edel gave it.

Yes it sure does. I doubt such a release will materialize anytime soon...if at all. Let's hope I'm wrong.

I didn't know you actually knew Fiedel. I'm quite positive it's true in that case.
I'll have to Google interviews with him. I've read a few, and they all seem to touch on The Terminator, so I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this.

I've only had a few email conversations with Brad, I don't know him personally. I see no reason why he should lie about it though.
Hate that 5.1 mix. They even left out the sliding blade metallic sound effect over the main titles. Unforgivable.
The thing I hate the most about the 5.1 mix is the replacement of those meaty 70s/80s sound effects for the magnum and shotgun blasts. God, I love those noises. The remix has none of the impact of the original. Same with the gun effects in JAWS.
Yep. The gun effects AND the laser sounds in the future scenes sound weird now too. Frigg.

Definitely not. He's got no reason to lie about it. In any case, it's cool you got to email him. I emailed Ron Jones a couple of years before the FSM box came out. Cool guy.
Well, like I said, Fiedel has hinted at something special for the 30th anniversary. I have to assume it's score-related
T1 with all elements intact and, as an added bonus, complete T2 from newly-unearthed pristine elements!
