I had a thread at another board about this cue. Listen to the cue titled "Sleeping Pill", here: http://lalalandrecords.com/Blob.html There's more than just a homage going on. Ha! That's too funny! I was gonna make a post about Kay's theme in the morning ironically, as I was listening to this today and thought to myself, "This is too damn good a theme not to have a thread all its own". I love the stand-alone Disco-fied concert arrangement, dated though it may be, and the stirring finale rendition. But my favorite must be that absolutely SOARING rendition for the "Overture"'s mid portion. Those strings, those glorious horns! It teems with sweeping, lyrical beauty. Just magnificent. No rerecording, nor the original and less-muscular sounding film tracks, has for me ever eclipsed the breathtaking beauty of that bit. The NPO original album is tops! I'm so glad others hold this in high regard as well!
