Jerry Goldsmith teamed up with Henry Mancini regular Blake Edwards in 1971 for the western WILD ROVERS starring William Holden and Ryan O'Neal.
The score was based in part on the traditional folk tune, "Goodbye, Old Paint." Sheet music of this tune was created as "The Theme from Wild Rovers."
Pianist Mike Farrell was handed this song and asked to sight read it on the spot. This recording is part of a series of obscure movie sheet music from the collection of Richard Kraft.
