It is.

We've seen many Williams books in recent years (most of them in Spanish, French and German), and ALL of them -- without exception -- have been some form of adaptation of a thesis.

That's fine and dandy, but I'm REALLY looking for a book written for its own sake, from scratch, in English. I aim to write one if no one beats me to it.

Please do!

I also wonder if Williams himself might pen an autobiography.

You should! I'd be the first to buy it.

Thanks! However, it wouldn't have the kind of in-depth musical terminology you require, I think. I'm just a layman when it comes to that. However, I've assembled so much biographical and works-related information over the years that hasn't been covered elsewhere, so it would have that. And aesthetic analyses based on music in context, of course.

The historical angle is exactly what I'm looking for. You can't find it anywhere and you've been collecting it for years. Sure, I can analyze, but I'm no historian. So it would be a real boon for me and many, many others I'm sure.

Don't you think..by now...now...John Williams would of done that..if He was the slightest interested.
Meeting him, and talking to Williams and knowing others that know Williams...He aint that type of dude.

Spielberg would have directed or at least produced a documentary on Williams by now, if JW was up for it. He probably isn't.

On this date of the US theatrical debut of "Jaws" in 1975, it has been great fun reading this book.
