I just heard from The World, and it is very eager to listen to the audio samples everyone posted.

I know I made this point earlier in the thread, but I find it rather presumptous to believe that something you love dearly will be equally loved by someone who doesn't necessarily share your taste in things. The number one thing to do first, before making any recommendations, is to research a bit about the recomendee's taste, and then taillor your picks accordingly.

To all the knobheads in this thread having a hard time just naming a fkn piece of film music that you'd like to share, read the first line of my original post, wherein I liken this 'Imagined Situation' to the scene from Shawshank Redemption (I even quoted the Hank Williams joke from the film after the scene, in a later post, for all the 'on the scale' people who might have trouble 'joining in' with the normal people).
Or maybe just go kick a cat or some other pastime that might give you more fun!!

Thumbs up to the regulars who just 'went with it'.

Ha, ha. I guess that was directed at me. Sorry, Kev, my brain implodes unless I have specific parameters to work with. If your parameters were just to recommend some obscure scores, I would need some more specificity. There are, like, a million great scores I love that could possibly be defined as obscure. If, however, the goal is to introduce people to a great piece of music that will "make them stand up and take notice", like the scene in SHAWSHANK, I would first need to research what he/she/they like. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

No worries Thor. I guess you should just pick something by Hank Williams.

And it wasn't just you having trouble just 'going with it'.
