I love that Alphaville album, I still have my old vinyl copy of it. It and 'Forever Young' are two of my favourite 80s albums. Great band.
Nice album, best tracks were Universal Daddy and the Bowie-esque Lass!e Come Home.
Some very peculiar lyrics on that album!
Interesting that it was co-produced by Peter Walsh, who also produced Simple Minds' New Gold Dream as a 22-year old in 1982!
I wouldn't put Alphaville up there among the best german 80s synth artists though, I rate artists like Sandra and Freiheit (Romancing In The Dark-album) higher.

I was heartbroken when the wonderful Sisaundra Lewis was eliminated (far too soon!) on the recent "The Voice" on NBC, and went to iTunes and bought the following by her (and they're great!):
It's A Man's Man's World Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me Ain't No Way Shout River Deep Mountain High
Just adored Sisaundra Lewis and feel that she was far better than most who continued after her, although I happened to like (and vote for) winner Josh Kauffman after Sisaundra left.
Other recommendations from iTunes:
Chandelier by Sia I'll Stand By You by Reny Home (Live) by Phillip Phillips (much prefer the live version of his big hit) Domino by Nic Hawke (from The Voice) (simply stunning!) Rolling In The Deep by Carly Rose Sonenclar (from The Voice) (just loved her) If I Were A Boy by Carly Rose Sonenclar (from The Voice) Need You Now by Charlie Puth and Emily Luther (love both of 'em!) Oblivion featuring Susanne Sundfør (from Oblivion)

Good find for the price, Jon. That compilation only goes as far as 1991 of course. The DVD with the Deluxe Edition of the '25' release features some more of the later videos.
I just acquired two 50-CD box sets of vintage classical recordings. The first one highlights Decca recordings from the analog era, going back to the early 1950s. The second one is Volume 2 of Mercury Living Presence classical recordings. Both sets feature excellent performances with often astounding sonics. Engineers back then knew what they were doing. Plus I'm discovering some pieces I hadn't known about.
I wish I could find some more decent new rock and metal releases. Sadly, most of what has come out lately has been really boring. The last rock album I bought was a debut from a small British band called Cage the Gods.
