At least it wasn't that big of an oops. You already stated some time back Voyager was going to come, and not too long ago that ST: TNG was indeed going to have a second volume. Only Enterprise was the surprise, but not really so much -- it ST: TNG is geting a second one, than surely Enterprise was as well. We get bigger spills from Amazon's early listings.

Sorry, MV! I figured since TrekCore posted it (and it confirmed what had previously been hinted at about VOYAGER and a TNG, Volume 2 set) that it was safe to post here. I hope this doesn't cause too many people to pester LLL next year about when they'll be released....

You really think the music on DS9, Voyager, and 2nd half of TNG isn't more sandy-sounding? Enterprise is where Berman finally loosened up...what better proof than the fact that Jeff Bond actually likes the music? I'm not saying this music is on the level of the crate scores or anything, but it's definitely ore interesting than most of the modern Trek shows' music. Even McCarthy and Jattaway who had been drastically toning down their music for years really let loose on some episodes of Enterprise... Yavar I think they started to loosen up on DS9 or, as the series progressed and became more serialized, the music progressed in its own way along with it. (On TNG they weren't allowed to cut loose; on DS9 I just don't think Berman cared as much--he seemed let Ira Steven Behr, Ron Moore et al do their own thing because VOYAGER had the spotlight.) For me, DS9's music always stood out more than TNG's. I always loved David Bell's scores--to my ears they perfectly captured the show's ambiguity. I remember watching the final episode and just wishing like hell that someone would release the music for it. (Thanks a million times over, LLL!!!) DS9 has a lot more emotional and action music than TNG (again, driven by the way the series was written, I think).

But IMO it took until Enterprise to be actually loose. (Of course, even on Enterprise they weren't able to fully let loose, on say the scale of Shirley Walker for Space: Above and Beyond!) While DS9's music is more exciting/expressive than later TNG, I also find much (certainly not all) of it rather interchangeable as another poster was complaining. Composers were allowed to be more distinctive and interesting on Enterprise, for the most part. And I only agree with your second paragraph if Ron Jones (and the one Fred Steiner...and perhaps even early McCarthy/Chattaway) TNG is excluded. Before Berman took over the music TNG was so much better. I still think Jones is overall the best modern Trek (TNG-on) composer; and it was because his music stood out so much that he was let go after all... Yavar

I obtained a submission demo by Shirley Walker so she might be considered to work on the show, but apparently they never hired her. A missed oppritunity if you ask me!

The phrase 'above and beyond' has been used many times before and in my experience it absolutely applies to MV and the La la land label. After an unfortunate incident with another seller, MV came through with an extraordinary act of generosity. Very much appreciated. Best wishes to all!

I wonder if we'll get a 'Class of 2014' image/poster on the La La Land face book page this year (it's tradition, isn't it)? Its been up there for a few weeks now. MV
