Don't stink up your kitchen garbage can. I put uneaten/expired food, chicken bones, egg shells, etc, in a zip lock bag and store it in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator. When it's full I put it in the trash can. (This also keeps pests out of the kitchen.)

It's a good idea to keep the number for AAA (auto club, not Alcoholics Anonymous) in the glove compartment of your car. Even if you're not a member you can call them for help if you have car trouble. Yes, they will charge you more than a member and they'll give first priority to their members when they are busy but if you find yourself in a bad way on the road just remember you can call them. Just have your credit card handy.
