Is it sanctioned by the sport's governing body or is this a breakaway thread? I don't want to join it fully then find out this is Sepp Blatter's FIFA when i want to be in new improved FIFA.

TG is gonig to throw a cup at you for this thread-starting upstart behaviour! He hadn't even blown the whistle.

We can have two threads at once.
Old stuff in that one, new stuff in this one.

May as well have named it Fergie time - its just u and me wanderer.
We are the new football thread.!
So what shall we talk about?
How about Bolton?
I never liked Bolton because of Allardyce.
Then i didnt like west ham coz we had him.
Soon i may be able to hate the england team even more if he gets the job.

I felt he would have been a good choice for England years ago when they went with McClaren or whoever. He could bond a team of losers and get them playing well. Regardless of who manages England they'll be shite. He's a manager i can see players not liking as he'd actually be willing to drop people and play to a team's strengths.

Equally he has proven to be better at getting jouneymen to play well together as opposed to getting the best out of the very top players. Also tactically he has always played very limited, negative systems.
My biggest complaint about him is how he could talk up a shit performance. Worse, on a weekly basis, he would have the nerve to try and find stats to back up that we had the best of 80 minutes even tho we lost 3-0.
Hodgson was bad enough at clutching at straws, allardyce would be worse.
We lose 5-1 to germany and fat sam would be producing a graph to show how good our goal kicks were!!
He doesnt have a decent enough record to be an international manager.
Perfect for portugal, they play dull shit !! He would see if kevin nolan had a portugues uncle!!

Much better than anything mentioning former Man Ure employees.

i remember for the last year of his tenure our results weren't bad but people were dropping season tickets because it was just awful to watch.

Same happened at upton park.
Worse was that we got 7 points from january onwards, which was just scandalous.
And he thought that was ok.

Yeah tg i figured you wouldnt like that Fergie time one bit.

So im still open to offers on the football thread title.

The current one is a temp track.

We could call it "ANOTHER FKN STAR WARS THREAD" and see how many scifi nerds we can piss off when they click on it and cant hide their disappointment. Espec kev mcGann. Ha ha.

How about The football thread - playing for penalties?

Or Gareth Bale is not for sale.

Bill, you need to put what season in the title (2016-17)!
The yanks around here will think it's a new TV series startin' wink
And stop changing the bloody ghosts!! Babs isn't happy!!

In other news, the ghost of Jimmy Saville told me he's supporting Man U this season. Figures.

Leeds win a pre-season game, beating shelbourne!

Finally hammers get rid of James Tomkins - so thats Palace's season stuffed then.

+1 for putting the season dates into the title...

So, Peter Cushing was in Star Wars, so this is actually the Star Wars football thread then. Teams from the Rebellion vs teams from the Empire... wink

Ibe to Bournemouth. That seems like a good buy. Surprised they let him go, rather than maybe loan him. But good on him for wanting first team football. Heard good things about him. Hope he has a good season.
