Just sayin'. They've done great work on their "Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine" sets, I'm anxiously awaiting more...and "Voyager" has some impressive music.

I agree combining these two isn't a good option. Both have more than enough interesting music than they deserve individual, multidisc releases. If we have to wait a bit longer for Voyager, so be it. I'd rather get two superior individual products than one combined album that was rushed because people are impatient. And as has already been said, between the two, Voyager already has more music out there. Its release from LLL could probably get away with 3 discs, but Enterprise deserves at least 4, if not 5, all to itself. It's a minor point, but designing suitable cover art and liner notes would be problematic for a combined set of these two, as Enterprise completely abandoned most of the typefaces as well as the overall aesthetics used for the Trek series set in the 24th-century. The LCARs inspired layout used for La-La-Land's TNG and DS9 sets would be appropriate for Voyager, but look completely out of place on an Enterprise set. And finally, while this has nothing to do with the quality of Voyager's music... to be frank, as a TV show, it leaves a lot to be desired. Most of it was dreck, with the exception of episodes about the Doctor; and I give the credit for that to Robert Picardo being awesome, rather than writing skill. Captain Proton episodes also tended to be very enjoyable, and if there's any Captain Proton music still unreleased I'd love for LLL to include that on their inevitable Voyager set.

While I don't recall all the episode scores, here are some I remember liking/loving: "End Game" (Jay Chattaway) "Flesh And Blood" (David Bell) "Unimatrix" Parts 1 & 2 (Dennis McCarthy) "Survival Instinct" (Dennis McCarthy) "Blink of An Eye" (Paul Baillargeon) "Dark Frontier" Parts 1 & 2 (David Bell) "Scorpion" Parts 1 & 2 (Jay Chattaway) "Blink of An Eye" - Paul Baillargeon) I remember the last time I saw this, I was truck before by the music as I had no previously been. I concentrated on it very much, and was moved even to some tears. "Message In a Bottle" (Paul Baillargeon) I particularly remember some short bursts of exciting music during the battle with the Romulan warbirds. "Hope and Fear" (Dennis McCarthy) I remember some dark and brooding music, as only he can do, for many scenes, especially the climax when Janeway and the screw beam of the fake Federation ship, the Dauntless, a leaving Arturis alone as the ship comes out of slipstream drive, into Borg space and then being surrounded by Borg cubes. This was one of the better episodes of an otherwise poor series. There wasn't a heck of a lot to watch back then when you had rabbit ears!

Also as a thread stealer, how would Enterprise get divided up? McCarthy Disc 1, Chattway Disc 2, Brian Tyler and Others Disc 3, Season 4 (Synthesizer) Disc 4? Also to go even further, what would the chances be after these next two albums are done for a "Music of Star Trek" CD set going back and hitting episodes that were missed for all of the series on one set? I got one: http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=94386&forumID=1&archive=0

I got one: http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=94386&forumID=1&archive=0 It'd probably be again D1 McCarthy, D2 Chattaway, D3 Others. The only reason DS9 had a 4th was because of the Lost Album which they had to go out of their way to find a way to add it... the original plan was to do 3 discs like the TNG set. On that note, do we know that Season 4 was *entirely* synthesized? I know certain episodes contained orchestra, and judging from the videos I've seen of the These Are The Voyages sessions combined with the final recording, I'd say it's a stripped down orchestra augmented (haha, Enterprise joke) with synth to make the orchestra sound bigger. In any case, it was a sad day in episodic TV when budget cuts forced them to cut the orchestra to a Star Trek series.
