Our friends at Jim Henson & Fathom Events are bringing back the classic film Labyrinth starring Grammy winning singer/songwriter David Bowie and Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly to theaters 4/29, May 1st, May 2nd.
After the film stay for a wonderful episode from Jim Henson’s The Storyteller . And coming soon from Varese Sarabande is a special 30th anniversary 3 CD box set of The Storyteller with music by Oscar winning composer Rachel Portman.
You just beat me to the punch, HJ! This is very welcome news, especially after previous attempts to wrestle this one over the finish line were not successful.
A special shout-out to LLL for putting so much work into this one back in the day.
I have always liked the work of Rachel Portman. Didn't see this production 30 years ago, but the music sounds like something I would want to have. A nice surprise from a label I have not been to kind to in recent years. Way to go, Varese !
I'm so happy this is finally coming out. I know the projects' producers toiled endlessly on this project. It was years in the making but well worth the wait. You guys are gonna love it!
Just to add my voice to the chorus of cheers above. I too saw this in the newsletter and grinned from ear to ear. It was a great TV series and fab music so it's heartening to learn it's getting a release after all this time. :-)
It's so great this is finally happening! As there were only 13 episodes it seems likely this is the complete series. Many thanks to all involved including LLL who no doubt did at least some prior work on it.
Here's to hoping more gems from the Henson vaults appear on CD, such as Fraggle Rock.
This is just great!! One of my Holy Grails! I know this will come out after the Labrynth plays in theaters again, but any idea how long afterward we will have to wait for this to come out? A date, I need a date!!!
