So some news to make us 80s score junkies happy. I commented on his facebook page that we are loving BHC and I asked if there is any hope for Fletch. His response? ...
"I'll pass it on to LaLa.. The chains seem to be broken! They will work on Top Gun next! "
Seeing that Lala could not put the film versions of pop songs onto their releases of BHC they will prob run into the same hurdle with Top Gun. Would be awesome if they could though... love those film versions!

What film versions of pop songs from BHC 1 & 2 are you referring to?
As for Top Gun, I can't see why there would be any problems to include the instrumental version of "Mighty wings" as the music was written and produced by Harold Faltermeyer. As far as I know he also did the instrumental version of "Take my breath away"** and I hope it'll be included as well.
** Faltermeyer may have done the instrumental "score" version of Danger zone too but I'm not sure about that.
The more I think about these, the more I can't wait. Top Gun would be so cool, especially if they include the music only song tracks everyone is discussing. And then there is Fletch. Yes, please. And please include Dan Hartman's Get Out of Town.

Well the movie instrumental of "Mighty wings" is slightly different to the backing of the vocal release, so its technically a film score piece rather than just the song instrumental.
This has to be included as its a major part of the movie score. Same with "Take my breath away", as Faltermeyer used his own synth sounds for that instrumental version in the movie.
A combined double CD package of songs/score is surely better as its one hell of a cracking soundtrack, one of the defining movies/scores of the 80s. They should put the song "radar radio" also on it, that was missing off the soundtrack for some baffling reason.
