Yup, Germany never seems that bothered about winning games they don't need to win. We get so excited when we win friendlies, but it should be about testing players & tactics, we might learn more from losing than winning. One thing's for sure, you'd have to be mad to go to Russia to support England.

Who does everyone think will win this summer? France will do well. Pogba freed from his Utd shackles.

I don't recall Pogba doing much in EURO2016 and he was "freed from his shackles" then, too.

Of course like everyone else, I think England will win the tournament--with a performance for the ages...

Some super sleuth work there by Jim with that Pogba article.

I see Switzerland beat our men from Panama 6-0. Get your money on England to beat them 1-0, with a 87th minute Harry Kane penalty.

You're that optimistic? wink

This is the least looked-forward-to tournament in my lifetime - and that includes the one where we cheered scotland. Not only will our team do badly but any fans out there will get zero protection from the police - probably the opposite, chuck you in a cell for defending yourself. The caribinieri and french police are partisan enough but this is different. There will be major problems with their state-encouraged hoolis. Either beatings, stabbings or worse, deaths. Anyone with a ticket, unless they are suicidal, should hand it back. Its a no brainer. The highly probable risk outweighs any possible benefit.

May be wiser for England not to go tbh. Some Russian groups will surely target England fans for special attention.

The behaviour of some of the England "supporters" last weekend in Amsterdam makes me think that if they were thrown into a Siberian Gulag and never seen again wouldn't be a bad thing.

Couldn't disagree less.

I'd love to talk footie, boys, but I've just been too busy listening to the exotic sounds of BBC disc jockey Noreen Khan. Today she's playing what sounds like the throwback sounds not out of place in a 1960s James Bond film. It evokes the era, that's for sure.

I suppose Natalie was given the push out the door because she is near 40 years old. mad

Personal confession: I could never truly decide whom I loved most: Natalie Sawyer or Hayley McQueen.

I'm surprised they didn't just shunt her to one of their graveyard shifts, as they've done before to some of their "older" female presenters.

Personal confession: My favourite of the lot is Sarah Stirk, who presents some of the golf coverage. Very nice!

I once sat mesmerized (US spelling) watching an interview of an off-duty Natalie Sawyer outside of the stadium of her football team, Brentford, where she was discussing the match as a fan, not as a presenter. I should maybe become a Brentford supporter.

Hayley McQueen is the daughter of former Leeds centre-half Gordon McQueen. It’s a fine line, but I’m sorry that Natalie Sawyer has left and this is the first I’ve heard of it.

Sorry, Freelance. You probably needed the points more than we did, but wins are so rare for us nowadays that it’s a bit of a relief.

I saw this coming a country mile away, shoulda put money on it.

MASSIVE game for us next. Birmingham. If we don't win it i'll worry. If we do, i think we'll be okay.

Be nice if they lose tomorrow too. If they win they're only 3 points behind us.

Results weren't great today with Reading winning and sunderland winning and Barnsley getting a draw.

I always loved Kirsty Gallacher.

Streets ahead. Fancied her more when she had her vampire fang but she had it sorted.

A few teams needing three points today in the relegation battles.

West Ham vs Southampton
West Brom vs Burnley
Palace vs Liverpool

Cracking six pointer for Bill there. I imagine him peeking through his fingers for 90 minutes.
