It's a rare thing for City to lose at home and today they were decisively beaten. Olivier Giroud has been outstanding since his return from injury and he scored again today. Good for them.
No Premiership next week as it's FA Cup action time once again. The fourth round features Liverpool at home vs. Bolton (remember them?) and the Carson boys away to Bristol City--I need to look them up, see their history etc. I'm still learning with all of these teams!
Big surprise - the Football League decides to enforce the ban on Massimo Cellino owning Leeds United. Even though in two months' time he can come back as if nothing had happened. In the meantime they'll insist that he sells the club (as if it hadn't taken years to get a buyer in the first place) and if he doesn't then no doubt will dock enough points to ensure relegation.
The first time they've enforced the "fit and proper person" rule on an incumbent. Utter shits.
Chelsea probably to win but dont think will be too high, 0-1 or maybe 1-2. It is first leg so they may not try too hard, just try to contain liverpool and nick a goal. They will expect to win at home so draw or narrow win would suit jose.
For that i think leeds deserve the Roy for this week coming, especially if they have a good result at weekend.
Well I would never take the award away once it's been given, so I will make Leeds United co-recipient of this week's award. I should also probably wait until Monday's matches end before giving it.
Who Dares Wins Award
Leeds United 1 Bournemouth 0
Luke Murphy pulls #19 LU's fat out of the fire again as his goal is the difference in the victory over #1 Bournemouth.
Thanks for the moral support, guys. However, like most fans, when it comes to football, I'm a glass half empty and someone's just drunk that and nicked the glass as well kind of guy. So all I can really think about now is that our main achievement this year has been to become Bournemouth's - Bournemouth's - bogey team.
And also hope Chelsea play like they did last night!
Created some good chances and their keeper made some decent saves, but we desperately need a striker on the pitch. Doesn't say much for Lambert and Borini being left on the bench. I'd also be a bit worried about the space Chelsea may get at Stamford Beach with our defence set up the way it is.
Chelsea better shore up its own defense, especially after five of those morons gave Sterling acres of space when he rammed that equalizing goal down their throat. Courtois had a good game, but he was running around like a hen because of his side's defensive liabilities. They were exceedingly lucky to get the draw, especially after they allowed Liverpool to control most of the second half.
Man Ure on against Cheltenham tonight. We play Bolton Saturday tea-time, but I'll miss it cos I'm on a stag-do which is meeting-up in a pub (without footy telly) at 5-00 and then onto one of those Real Ale Beer Festival mejigs at the St Georges Hall in Libpool from 6-00 til 11-00. Probably not missing much. If Oblicno signs in tomorrow, I'll know we got beat!
I'll not see the Liverpool match tomorrow either, I'll be attending the Irish League Cup Final to support my local team Cliftonville at the time. I'd normally be rooting for my good friend Lenny to do well, but not tomorrow I'm afraid

I think you find it's Cambridge, not Cheltenham. Has that stag do started already?
