The Walrus refers to someone being LONG IN THE TOOTH. They were getting pretty long in the tooth at that stage in their careers. Not to mention that it was JOHN in the Walrus suit, NOT PAUL as stated in the track, "Glass onion" on the White Album. Am I a Beatles fan? Only to excess.

"pot"??? of what?? schadole and beans??!!! The Beatles probably would have tried smoking escarole as well! I don't know about the beans though.. Would the Beatles have dipped the bread?? Probably not..Too used to the shitty British food..Pepperoni in the schadole is a deliacy to most Brits I guess... "Imagine there's no schadole, or pasta,.. Doo doo doo doo do, it's easy if you try, no hell below us, No pockmarked thighs...."

What about albums? My favorites are, in no particular order:

The Beatles ("White Album")
Rubber Soul
Abbey Road
Revolver
The Beatles 1962-1966
The Beatles 1967-1970

Heck, I love them all....

The AMERICAN RELEASES of their EPs need to be released!! We're missing some great music!! The U.S. HELP! LP has the SCORE ON IT and the James Bond Theme opening is just killer!

I'd bet a year's salary that the Beatles never ate Italian peasant food! Lots of "pints", lamb (none for Paul, thank you!), greasy chips, (great) dover sole and the best mushrooms!

I just got through watching 'The Beatles Anthology' on DVD, and I'd almost forgotten what a beautiful song "Free As A Bird" is. I especially love the harmony parts from 2:54 on....

Damn, why couldn't those guys have stayed together forever?

Because nothing THAT good lasts forever. But aren't we fortunate to have been given so much in the time that we did have them?

I was listening to Abby Road yesterday... what an album!
But, you know.. one of my ALL TIME favorite Beatles songs is one NO ONE EVER mentions; "Your Mother Should Know", from The Magical Mystery Tour album. That's one of my favorites to sing along with! BEAUTIFUL melody!

What a weird coincidence: I've been listening to the mono 'Magical Mystery Tour' E.P. (available only in 'The Beatles E.P. Collection') all day today, and the tracks I keep going back to are "I Am The Walrus" and......"Your Mother Should Know"!!!

jenkwombat, have you heard Danny Elfman's version of "I am the Walrus" on the last Boingo album from 1995? It's great.

Another good track that no one ever mentions is "For No One" from 'REVOLVER'....
