67F/21C and sunny with a delightful breeze. I hereby condemn you for that! (It's currently 40°F here, but feels much colder because of the wind, which shovels the hail right into your face.)

Well, freezing would be a-OK. It's the insane amounts of snow that's killing normal infrastructure here, even for jaded Norwegians. Schools and kindergartens are being closed, the electricity is going off several places in the region, and planes, busses, trains are being delayed and cancelled all over the place. The authorities also recommend people to leave their cars at home. People are friggin' skiing to work at the moment. Well, Thor, I just spent an hour shoveling snow while listening to you and the other montages.no guys discussing THE LAST JEDI, so that was time well spent, at least. And I love cross-country skiing, so I generally don't mind snow. But infrastructure-wise, it's a hassle, of course.

Well, Thor, I just spent an hour shoveling snow while listening to you and the other montages.no guys discussing THE LAST JEDI, so that was time well spent, at least. He, he...that's nice. Kev, I don't mind lots of snow if I voluntarily seek it out -- like a trip to a mountain cabin for skiing etc. (although I'll take palm trees any day!). But when it's in the city, and I have to get around (and I don't have a car), it's 100% a hassle. I hope it's all melted when I return to Oslo in a few days. I agree that snow is wonderful if you have free time to spend on a mountain cabin to go hiking, skiing, etc. :-) Walking through a winterwonderland is great. But in the city of Cologne, winter usually just means weather that screams "f*** you!" in your face... cold, gray drizzle, unpleasent skies, wind... and as soon as the slightest bit of snow touches the ground, one third of the drivers immediately panic on the road.

Also bei uns is' grad Schneesturm, Herr Zwar... ...it's blizzarding right now in Bavaria, which brings back fond (yes, FOND!) memories of my time in Canada. Of course, German drivers can't cope with that, and there's been two pile-ups on the street outside already. Dickheads. Ah, yes... but in Bavaria, snow is white and shiny and bright. In Cologne, snow is gray and dingy and drab. :-D
