A mixed bag:

The new cover for Michael J. Lewis "THE PASSAGE" is outstanding.
No CD series needs so much new covers, like all the Promo CDs of Michael J. Lewis.
So many wonderful scores, like THE MEDUSA TOUCH, have been released in this CD series.
But only THEATRE OF BLOOD was later provided with a matching cover by LA-LA LAND.
Michael J. Lewis made a fantastic job at that time to release all these scores in person on CD.
It is also not to blame him, that for understandable(financial) reasons, he renounced the licensing of the appropriate artworks.
We all were at that time already happy to have all these wonderful scores on CD.
A true miracle! Considering that no more scores were published except for THEATRE OF BLOOD.
It would be a pleasure not only for me but also for all other owners of these CDs, if new covers were available
for all CDs of this Promo-CD series!
Thank you in advance for the certainly considerable time effort.

Agreed about Michael J. Lewis, but there is one other talented composer who does indeed need similar treatment, in general...doncha think?:

And of course there's this beauty: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/4189bm0YVZL.jpg

Yes, John Scott was also very committed to make his scores available to his fans.
And he also tried to provide his CDs with acceptable covers.
I think that for the CDs with his documentary scores, no spectacular cover motifs (as in movies) are available;
so I think his covers are okay. But if someone can offer better covers for some of the Scott CDs, give it to us.
But the Michael J. Lewis covers are of course more important to me!

Yeah, the music is the most important thing and I'm very grateful to both Lewis and Scott for getting much of their music "out there" when it may have remained mostly unreleased otherwise. I totally forgive them for not spending the money to hire a good graphic designer. But since we have such talented folks here, it's wonderful to get new covers for some of their most egregious ones. smile

I plan to make as many as possible.

Just in case the new Star Wars soundtracks are released in digi-paks (sigh) and not in proper jewel cases, I made myself a back cover for Empire, based (loosely) on the original Polydor cover. It's not brilliant by any means, I just though I'd post it here and hope that someone else can do a better one.

Chris, you've gone and done it again. You've made me wonder what the other 8 films' soundtrack back covers will look like given this treatment.

*nudge*

On the digipak issue, it could be worse. They could give us cardboard sleeves...

Cardboard sleeves, God forbid. All eight, you're joking aren't you? Doing the first two was bad enough, I had to do the Jedi text in red to get it to show up. That annoys me, me being ocd, however for the moment it's the best I can do. Star Wars next. I have corrected a couple of errors on Empire as well (sigh)

As a compromise, perhaps you should make the back cover text "Star Wars" yellow, you know, like the opening crawl. It will pop nicely and you won't have the problem with white text bleeding into the poster art (also on ANH where the lightsaber touches the text at the top). Only if you feel like it smile

Argggggg, screams in frustration, why do these things have to be so difficult. I'm not sure if this is what you wanted, but this is what you've got smile

I'm off for a change of scenery (taking the dog out for a gallop) my computers melting anyway.

Without track numbers?

Do you mean, with track numbers?

I'm not quite sure I understand the question, but I am a little thick at times smile

I was being sarcastic! Why are you making all these back covers without track numbers?

Nice work Chris. I didn't even notice the missing track numbers. I generally listen to scores from start to finish anyway.
