I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked.
Since you released the LP version of the E.T. anniversary soundtrack (which I happily acquired), I was wondering if you also plan to release the LP version of Close Encounters?
Yes next year but to be honest with you ET has tanked and we spent about 60k on it (and if you are good with math you can see why I'm disappointed in sales). Not very happy with the sales thus far. Guess if I slapped a Mondo sticker on it or did a purple vinyl pressing it would have sold, but black is the best way to listen to vinyl. So many of these vinyl collector's are huge phonies anyway.
Argh... I'm sorry to hear that. Stay black please!
Also would you consider collaborating with new cover artists (me) for future releases (not necessary LP)? I dream of making covers not just for myself.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that MV. There is no logic to this vinyl BS - every time Varese, for example posts ANYTHING about a release, there is without fail a "vinyl??" post from someone. Maybe it's the same guy, who knows. I wonder if their low-risk, low-number, WTF? (hey its Nemesis & Sixth Sense - at long last on lp!!) releases are faring any better? I wonder what voodoo Mondo & Waxwork perform to succeed...

Always sorry to hear when a release doesn't sell well, especially when its such a costly endeavour for a boutique label such as yourselves. I have to imagine that the Mondo success is less to do with the music and more for the art and collectibility of their releases.
Hopefully your other stellar releases are selling well enough to offset some of the ET LP underperformance.
Over the course of La-La Land's soundtrack releases to today, what has been the most beneficial technological upgrade that has helped make soundtrack releases better?

I told you that you should have released it on wax cylinder!

MV, I'am very pleased I got my copy of this. The beautiful artwork has to be the finest to grace the cover of a vinyl release.
A good PR tactic would be to have an unboxing video of the Vinyl releases and posted on Youtube etc. This will certainly get the ball rolling (if consumer behavior tells me) The Vinyl fanatics will be surely triggered.
Rest assured- I'am looking forward to the CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and SCHINDLER'S LIST Vinyl sets.
Regarding vinyl, I thought my decision to disdain and abstain (not the least from those who continue to argue, incorrectly, that it’s a superior format from a sound quality perspective) would be enough to ignore it. Though, like populism, it turns out it’s actually a force to be reckoned with. I spent time in London, Amsterdam, and Paris this summer and those cities are LITTERED with vinyl shops, new and old. Up till now I thought perhaps it was just a thing on my home continent (North America)... but NO.
