Not this year, I'm afraid. We were assuming the pandemic wouldn't have gone on so long . Mr. Bricusse has stayed in France this whole time and I'm awaiting his return to L.A. so we can resume looking into it with CBS and Sony Music.

Can't you do some of the search without Mr. Bricusse? Not trying to sound impatient. ==jthree I wouldn't have had time this year regardless, but the original album never had the proper artist agreements finalized. At the time it was one company, but CBS Records is now part of Sony Music so it requires lawyers for two companies pulling files and dealing with Mr. Bricusse and his reps. For most of the past year, no one could even get physical access to the needed files. It simply would move more quickly with everyone in one country since LB, remains busy (at the age of 92) with new productions of his shows, etc.

There is much to settle with regard to Leslie's affairs. He was all set to come to LA this winter and his passing was completely unexpected. The problem with Scrooge, in a nutshell, is that there were never any artist agreements made for the album. So we were needing to do that with LB's lawyer and those at CBS and Sony Music. And then along came Covid. At some point when things settle down, it's on the to-do list. But with LB's family, management and assistants having so much to do -- he had three homes -- and working with studios still a challenge, it will be a while.

Thanks Mike, for your updates on Scrooge which enable us to have some understanding of the difficulties with releasing this wonderful score. Many of us look forward to it happening one day.

Star Trek is all-consuming right now and has thrown some things to the back burner a bit (or has at least resulted in some delegating) but there are projects I'm very much looking forward to getting into in the new year.

I wouldn't expect audio tweaks on a future release unless you told someone what you think they should be. Even though that doesn't mean it's necessarily possible.

Well, I hate to nitpick at such a glorious and beloved work that was the result of labor I'll never truly understand, but if it's okay to give feedback with all respect, gratitude, and admiration for your work. Those two snares at the beginning of the Main Title (Film Version) proper are just a wee bit ... tinny. I know, it's a tiny detail, but it's always sounded a little bolder in the film mix. It may be the reverb, I'm not sure, but a fan did a hybrid mix from the blu ray with the LLL release and it sounds more of what I was anticipating. Perhaps it's not correct, but the ear is accustomed to what it has heard for years. https://youtu.be/HozP_wGv2yY Anyways, I hope one day we will get a presentation of Scrooge with the album and the film score, maybe even some music only songs without vocals. Seems like there would be enough material to make at least a wonderful 3 CD set. I know they collaborated on Mr. Chips, and of course with lyrics, but some of the writing and orchestration reminds me of John Williams, especially when "I'll Begin Again" gets going towards its conclusion.

It was probably because the songs were arranged by Herbert Spencer, who was to be Williams’ regular orchestrator until his death in 1992.
