Thanks for the explanation about Paramount and the correction about the covers. Of course you can see why one might have the impression the covers are the same when not comparing them side by side; they are incredibly similar. Is that also because they are Paramount expansions or just designer's prerogative? Not complaining because the covers aren't bad; I'm just curious. Also, while I'm bugging you with curiosity anyway, can you enlighten as to why Dead Again was available for expansion (ie. not held in perpetuity like almost all other 90s Varese releases)? Yavar

Yavar Its very simple -- Paramount didn't grant perp rights on that title. MV

Hoping for Varese to get around to DEs of most of their 90s Goldsmith titles is probably going to end up being pretty frustrating. More likely ones might be Small Soldiers, Gremlins 2, Air Force One, The 13th Warrior, and possibly Medicine Man or Rudy because they are fan favorites. Maybe an outside chance of Chain Reaction or Along Came a Spider...or Looney Tunes just because it's his final score. But whereas LLL or Intrada might love to do expanded versions of stuff like The Haunting or U.S. Marshals or City Hall or Executive Decision or Love Field, I can't quite picture Varese doing it, unless management really changes. The 90s scores I think we'll be seeing from LLL or Intrada over the next few years: The Mummy, The Last Castle, The River Wild (hopefully with Jarre's rejected score), Dennis the Menace, and possibly a LLL remaster of Basic Instict with a few alternates or something thrown in. Hopefully Intrada will go to the trouble of doing complete versions of the four Disney-owned 90s titles as well: Mulan (would be nice to have an official release with detailed liner notes, though I've been enjoying the Oscar promo for some time), Powder, Deep Rising, and most importantly IMO The Ghost and the Darkness. Call me a doubting Thomas! I've just had a serious case of ants-in-the-pants since I learned about this release in early March, and with nothing new in the way of information, I was concerned about the release date actually becoming a reality. I need to just CHILL THE F OUT!

I think CREEPSHOW 2 has come up before and the masters are lost. And that LP is entirely fictional. "Although we previously believed that Rick Wakeman's score was released on vinyl LP on the Varese Sarabande label in 1987, Paul kindly wrote in to say that "This information about the score is false. I checked with Varese Sarabande at their website www.varesesarabande.com and they informed me that they never released it. Les Reed's website www.chapteronerecords.com also confirmed that Laurel Productions never issused a soundtrack either on CD or LP." http://www.fast-rewind.com/music_creepshowii.htm
