I am sure it would be a great succes, not only because of the series fans, but also because of the composers' ones...

I also loved the Melrose Place scores by Tim Truman, Ken Harrison and Eddie Arkin, three wonderful composers. Would love to get them released on CD. Wouldn't you?

Would love ANYTHING by Truman. He hasn't got a single score released on CD.

The cost of doing older tv series is astronomical and they need to be guaranteed hits to pursue. Transfers alone would put you in the $20k to $30k range, and that's before producing and assembling, not too mentions advances, royalties manufacturing, etc...

WWW was a major gamble for us and it paid off. We basically broke even with a few bucks to buy us lunch. Now, a volume 2 will be less costly because the major work is done, so that's the good part of the equation. YAY!

And don't you think Dallas or Dynasty, with so talented composers, would be a good bet for La La Land Records? A good opportunity? What are the good parameters that worked for WWW and that could work for Dallas and Dynasty? And Knots Landing too?

La La Land Records, could you tell us if there is any chance or talks of getting Dallas, Dynasty, KL or FC released on CD?

We are not talking about an obscure show that only lasted 6 episodes but in the case of DALLAS or Dynasty of some of the most succesful TV events of a whole decade with sweeping and powerful thematic orchestral music.

And as far as I recall was Knight Rider for example a very succesful release for FSM.

Totally agree with you... Dallas/Dynasty CD releases would be a great opportunity for any record company: great fan base, amazing composers... A collector's dream!

Has La La Land Records thought about new CD releases of 70's 80's series for the next months?

Oh please... don't compare Days of our Lives with Dallas, Dynasty, KL and FC! Except for Kristian Alfonso!
We should fight to get theses great composers, Rubin, Immell,... on CD!

Do you think we should begin a petition? And what about a kickstarter campaign?

Well now...
This is the 52nd post in this thread...
22 of those "posts" were done by you Philipe...
This is my 4th post...
So, with us two being the main fans of the "Dallas" TV Series, we could say that the 26 other posters are just as keen...
Are they?

I sincerely hope that more people start to "jump on board" so to speak, and to show there enthusiasm in getting an official CD release of the "Dallas" scores.

I have tried to get a couple of other TV Series scores released before, without much enthusiasm from this board, and I am proud of you Philipe for not giving up, and keeping this thread "highlighted" so to speak, so that the soundtrack companies, can at least read the title of the thread, and hopefully, get on board to at least "try" to look into it, so that something might get officially done. I will sign the petition if there is one for this.

By the way, I know what you mean in regards to Days Of Our Lives, some people might be thinking of Dallas (or Dynasty) for that matter - as a "Soapy" like Days Of Our Lives... People, Dallas is nothing like that! THE MUSIC, and the TV Series itself, is much more high class!

Have any of you got the Megaforce soundtrack, by Jerold Immell? That's a lot of fun, but it also contains two tracks that remind me of some of the more romantic/ pop infused cues in Dallas. The cues are called Ace Flirts and Freefalling in Love, and they're great.

Still hoping for some sort of score release of Dallas though. And Columbo. And Night Gallery...ha ha.

Thank you Reeve for your very kind words.
Pooter, I will listen to these two Megaforce cues carefully... I love Jerrold Immel work. So strange we could not have his Dallas and KL scores released as it was said some years ago. Does anybody know what really happened?

My favourite Dallas composer was Lance Rubin. I had the great privilege to meet him in 1995. He gave me a cassette of some of his scores. I treasure it. But I do not have anymore information about him. Does anyone know about Mister Rubin? Does he still write music? Is he still in the music business?

When I was in high school, I was laid up with the flu for a couple of weeks, and spent a lot of time on the couch watching TV between drifting in and out of fever dreams.

The show "Knots Landing" came on one night. I had never seen it before.

The episode that I saw was about of gang of neighborhood kids who were going around in a car with a baseball bat knocking over mailboxes. The residents reacted as though this was the most horrible thing they had ever encountered. It was certainly among the more stupid television I have ever encountered. I remember it all these years later.

I seem to remember a Dallas LP and Cassette release in the late '80s. If memory serves, the front cover was the familiar aerial shot of Southfork from the end of the opening credits. Anyone else remember this release?
