Does anyone have a list of episodes to go along with the tracklist? Some are obvious, like the ones named after various episodes, but others aren't.

Here's what I've been able to identify:

1: Agents of Shield Overture - Sounds like a concert arrangement of the main theme and Skye's theme.
2: Showdown at Union Station - A collage of cues from 1x01's finale.
3: 0-8-4 - Probably a bunch of cues from 1x02 but haven't double checked.
4: Rocket Launch - The finale of 1x02.
5: The Obelisk - Several early cues from 2x01.
6: Aftermath of the Uprising - Climax of 1x17.
7: Gravitonium - Cues from the climax of 1x03.
8: Cal - Not sure, exactly but season 2.
9: Cello Concerto - Some cues from 1x19.
10: Willing to Sacrifice - The finale of 2x01.
11: Alien DNA - Not sure but the ending at least is from 1x22.
12: Fttz - Two cues from 1x06.
13: Garrett - Not sure but season 1.
14: Hail Hydra - A fight scene from 1x17.
15: Helicopter Rescue - From 1x22.
16: Terrigen Crystals - From the finale of 2x20.
17: The Big Bang - A bunch of cues from 1x22.
18: The Rising Tide - Probably cues from earlier in the first season.

If you guys are interested in 50 more minutes of SHIELD music, check out co-composer Jonathan Ortega's official site:

jb1234, thank you for your analysis! I'm curious to see if you can place Ortega's tracks as well. I'd love to do a chronological edit of the two together

That's pretty easy, since the episode numbers are part of the file name. I'd personally leave Ortega's tracks out as I don't find them particularly interesting.

I disagree. Major character pieces. Id love to see them released. Feels like I have half an album. Guess have to wait for deluxe version.

I'm looking forward to the physical release of this score. I'm a fan of the show and the samples I listened to sound indeed better than what I remembered from watching the TV episodes.

(BTW, I was never fond of McCreary's BSG music but I very much like "The Cape" and of course his magnum opus, "Human Target".)

Magnum opus (noun): a large and important work of art, music, or literature, especially one regarded as the most important work of an artist or writer.

Regardless of your personal feelings on BSG, it is the only work that can qualify as Bear's magnum opus so far. It was both his first and in many ways most ambitious TV project and between 4 seasons and 3 TV movies, it has also been one of, if not his longest project to date. By contrast, McCreary only worked on Human Target for the first of its two seasons on FOX.

Well, I regard HT as McCreary's most important work - that one season he scored! smile
To each his own...

Does anyone know what happened to the physical release of this CD? Initially, Amazon had a release date of October 2. But October 2 came and went and then the status changed to temporarily out of stock.

Bear posted on his blog on Sept 28:
"For the collectors, the physical CD edition comes out in a couple weeks! Follow me on Facebook or Twitter for updated details as they become available."

See more at: http://www.bearmccreary.com/#blog/blog/agents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-season-3-begins/

And he also just posted on Facebook the cover of the upcoming Da Vinci's Demon's season 3 soundtrack.

Looks like Bear helped answer our question about where he pulled the various tracks from. Biggest surprise? The Overture seems to have been recorded separately and not pulled directly from score material.

1. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Overture
2. Showdown at Union Station (“Pilot” & “The Bridge”)
3. 0-8-4 (“0-8-4?)
4. Rocket Launch (“0-8-4?)
5. The Obelisk (“Shadows”)
6. Aftermath of the Uprising (“Turn, Turn, Turn”)
7. Gravitonium (“The Asset”)
8. Cal (“One of Us”)
9. Cello Concerto (“The Only Light in the Darkness”)
10. Willing to Sacrifice (“Shadows”)
11. Alien DNA (“The Well,” “The Beginning of the End” & “Shadows”)
12. FZZT (“FZZT”)
13. Garrett (“TAHITI”)
14. Hail Hydra (“Turn, Turn, Turn”)
15. Helicopter Rescue (“The Beginning of the End”)
16. Terrigen Crystals (“Scars”)
17. Big Bang (“The Beginning of the End”)
18. The Rising Tide (“Pilot”)

Still loving this album ! For me, his best since Human Target, which IMO is his best. The SHIELD MP3 album is $6.99 on Amazon.

It is a great album, eagerly awaiting the CD release.

I also see in the comments from the above link that there's a hint about a CD release of DaVinci's Demons Season 2 as well.

I'm not sure if anyone interested has noticed, but Amazon's listing for the score shows a release date of October 21st, 2015.

That's tomorrow!
