I believe I might be reaching the end of my CD purchases. How do you say it, "Hell has frozen over"? Varese is releasing a title that a different label released? We already own it so someone can have our copy. I can get a good nights rest.

I partially agree. I much rather have an unreleased title, but it's nice that someone who never got the title now can.

I can understand that this is great for those who did not get it the first time, but between my collection and my fathers we have pretty well have what we like covered except unreleased scores. The most surprising is that Varese is releasing something that another label released. (Intrada, please do not take offense to that, we own your LOCK UP and Varese has been around forever). Is Varese having that hard of a time locating other projects to release or is this a sign that Varese is hurting financially? Is Varese still trying to recover the cost of the SPARTACUS set or are they trying to come up with the money to pay divingmissdaisy? wink This just seems like a release BSX or Kritzerland would have re-released.

The Survivor song will not be included with this release. The contents are the same as the CD the fine folks at Intrada released almost 10 years ago. Man does time fly. I also missed out on the Intrada one for some odd reason so I will be good to see this released again.

PS: I would also like to say it's nice to hear fellow fans saying, they may already own the Intrada release, but are GLAD that others that missed out on it can now finally get a copy. THAT is the kind of community I just love hearing as it's my sentiments as well. I am proudly one of those that missed it so this is a welcome addition to my "tiny" collection.

See you all Monday for the release!

I'm still expecting Varese to re-release THE NEXT KARATE KID in an upcoming batch. I much rather have an unreleased Conti. But that probably won't happen, atleast for awhile.

There are also other older Varese titles like MAD MAX or THE ROAD WARRIOR, that need re-released over the score to LOCK OUT. But, that is my opinion and no, I do not have enough money to start my own label. I will just enjoy our existing Varese collection until their next announcement.

But you do have more then enough time to tell him that they are wrong and bitch and moan...

I'll be there! Also, there's nothing wrong with the mastering on the Intrada release, but if something is remastered I want it.smileAnd, I love disc art.

what time for eastern time?

The time I quoted is PST.

I've learned the hard way over the years to be both excited and wary of remasters, which many times screw up the mix (missing instruments, truncated masters, splicing of takes incorrectly - much less so with film scores than with rock and pop (Elvis, Streisand, Rush, etc.)). After a few blunders, I've learned to buy the remaster if I want it, but to do a close comparison before getting rid of the original.

In the case of Varese, I have a few of their remasters with some flaws on them - CHILDREN OF THE CORN has a wobble on one of the tracks that was not present on my vinyl, and BLUE VELVET still has an audible deficiency on the main title that is not on the European pressing (I forget which label) or on Varese's vinyl. I find their masters aren't always in perfect shape when they get a re-release.

That said, I'm very excited about LOCK UP as I missed it the first go-'round.

They are 11 and 30 Spanish time. At this time we would Intrada and exposed on our screens the new titles. I think Varerse knows the saying "the early bird catches the worm"

How many times has Stallone been in movie prisons? This, Tango & Cash, Victory, Escape Plan, Demolition Man, First Blood, and nearly so with Judge Dredd.

And yet the one time he actually commits an offence on screen rather than being framed - and one with no extenuating circumstances (singing in Rhinestone) - there was no prison in sight...

LOL!

One of the reasons I avoid the Paradise Alley-soundtrack.

That's a shame. Firstly, the Tom Waits tracks are lovely, as is the score, but the Stallone vocal is in character. That song is exactly what that character would sing and how he would sound singing it. Melancholy, stark, laying it all bare.
