I'm still thinking that they're from the UA catalogue. I don't think Duel At Diablo, as I'm sure Bruce said a while back that he wouldn't be releasing any more titles from the "Box", but I dunno, maybe he didn't. There's The Way West, a great score that sold out very quickly from Intrada (I didn't buy it as I still have the EMI CD). Just as a point of reference, the EMI CD is pretty horrible. Also just a few tracks, isn't it? 3 scores on one disc as I recall, and none of them very good sounding. Exactly. And it's a really good score.

Well, one of the titles has been guessed, but not the other. In any case, we'll know in about six hours.

Ok, fine. Nassour and Schecter are the bad guys, not you. Fine. Glad you pointed it out. Suggestion: Everybody go back to the beginning of this thread (page 6) and read Ed Nassour's very first posting. In MY opinion, Schecter is a bad guy for doing what he did in a very specific case, which you, having eyes, can clearly see if you search for it. I reposted it in its entirety recently when someone inquired about Last Man On Earth. And if you read that, you will know exactly why I consider Mr. Schecter a bad guy, and most people here concur, I'm afraid. I went back and read Ed's first post in this thread and then every subsequent post he made in this thread. Then I read all my responses, all of which were respectful and informative - so you will have to point out to me in THIS thread this horse-whipping you speak of because, as always is the case with people like you, you CAN'T because there is not one instance of it. Other threads are not THIS thread. And in other threads, I and others can point out many posts by Ed that cause not illumination but complete confusion. I'm afraid, my dear, it is you who are the problem here, trying to stir up trouble where it cannot be stirred, at least not in THIS thread. Any chance of another print/pressing run for those of us who missed it? No other pressing coming, but I do have a very small stash of emergency copies so drop me an e-mail at kritzerland at gmail dot com and I'm sure I can get you one. This is a very nice gesture and a sign that the 'hatchet' is well and truely buried as it is with me. The only thing is, and I really mean this in fun, once you've got my address, you won't "send the boys around" will you?

This is just so great. It is the release of the year for me. I can't quit listening. Aside- HF did a great job of getting the guts of the score on the lp, but the ost tracks are spectacular.

I had my first listen to this album today without having read this thread first, and I have to say the "Alternate Main Title" is the best bonus track I have ever heard. I heard the first few notes and I was thinking to myself, "Wow, that sounds a lot like Moross." Then a few more notes and it was clear to be either a very blatant case of ghost-writing or a mislabeled track.

BTW, for anyone who ordered the cast album of Sugar, they all shipped out this morning.

For those curious to know more about Friedhofer's musical approach in this film, there are some interesting comments from the composer himself about Mexican music in Tony Thomas' Music For the Movies - although he says nothing about this score in particular (perhaps, in some ways, he wanted to forget the experience!). Thanks for a beautiful and generous (2 for the price of 1) release. We all need more Friedhofer!

The notes, of course. They are pure Redman, presented in his familiar, well researched and perfectly written manner. I knew Peckinpah had written a screenplay for OEJ , but the Brando bio did not go into much detail about it. It was enlightning to catch the connection with PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID.
