Wow! My prediction (=guess) on the Hawaii Five-O 2010 thread was right.

Not exactly--the three upcoming TV releases Lukas mentioned didn't include Five-0, which is a bit further down the pipeline. But either way, there is plenty of TV goodness coming from FSM.

Boy, if these get the same superior treatment that THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. FSM releases got then we're all in for a awesome treat!

It's about time! Now, people will finally get to know where the music for the "C.B.S. Special Presentation" came from!

Might as well tell you all we're releasing it on CD as soon as we can get it finished!

Lukas

This is great news, Lukas - any chance you can tap into those episode scores from CBS?...:-)

Lukas - now that you have let the cat out of the bag - what is the possibility of informing us of what we are likely to see in the FSM release of the music from "Hawaii Five-0"

Whether it's just the original LP transfer or a 50 CD set of every note composed for this series, I for one will be placing an order!!!

According to SAE's Facebook page, and I could be wrong here, none of these seem to be from the 60's and 70's. Someone had asked about further UNCLE cd's, and the response was: none from the 60's and 70's planned.

Um, FSM isn't the only one dealing with Capitol - we did do a little album called The Man Who Would Be King and we'll be doing a lot more.

Great, if you're negotiating with Capitol, how about reissuing some of Les Baxter's exotica albums on CD?

This release must be related to the upcoming series re-boot. Nevertheless, of all of the Capitol soundtrack LPs not yet on CD, "Hawaii Five-O" is the one most worthy of re-issuance. The others:

The Art of Love (Cy Coleman)
Bad Boys (Bill Conti)
Beach Blanket Bingo (various pop)
Beyond the Great Wall (source music)
Cat Ballou (Nat King Cole, other film themes)
The Continental Twist (various pop)
Cromwell (dialogue, Frank Cordell)
A Face in the Crowd (Tom Glazer)
Gigot (Michel Magne, Jackie Gleason)
The Golden Breed, (Mike Curb, Jerry Styner)
Hammersmith Is Out (Dominic Frontiere)
The Harrad Experiment (Artie Butler)
The Harrad Summer (Patrick Williams)
Heart Beat (Jack Nitzsche)
Hell’s Angels ’69 (Tony Bruno)
His Wife’s Habit (Jim Helms)
The Hitter (Garfeel Ruff)
Honky Tonk Freeway (Elmer Bernstein, George Martin)
Hotel New Hampshire (Jacques Offenbach)
John F. Kennedy: Years of Lightning, Day of Drums (Bruce Herschenson, dialogue)
Love, American Style (Charles Fox)
Marvin and Tige (Patrick Williams)
The Mating Urge (Stanley Wilson)
My Side of the Mountain (Wilfred Josephs)
Norwood (Al DeLory, various pop)
Outlaw Blues (Charles Bernstein, various country)
Privilege (Mike Leander, Mark London)
The Sacred Idol (Les Baxter)
Saint Joan (Mischa Spoliansky)
St. Louis Blues (Nelson Riddle) {Released by Collector’s Choice, November 2007}
Sing Boy Sing (Lionel Newman, Tommy Sands)
The Untouchables [TV] (Nelson Riddle)
Up the Academy (various rock)
War and Peace [1968] (Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov)
What Comes Around (Jerry Reed, other country)
With a Song in My Heart (various popular) {Released by DRG, August 2003}
Woman Times Seven (Riz Ortolani)

EDITED

I, too would like to see an "official" C.D. release of Nelson Riddle's "The Untouchables" because the one on Hallmark was taken from a noisy sounding L.P..

Let's hope that the L.P. transfer is taken from a sealed one, and not a worn out one with annoying surface noise.

It's not been mentioned that the CD is coming from a vinyl source; merely, people are curious if it's a straight re-issue of LP contents, or with scores.

Most likely, FSM went back to Capitol to re-master the original analog tape that was used to prepare the LP - I have a feeling that it will be just the original twelve tracks only on the new CD only...:-)

Our CD is a new remaster of the original 1/4" album masters in the EMI vaults. There are no bonus tracks we can add. So it will have the LP contents, sounding great.

We have not been able to license the OST music from CBS, sorry.

Lukas

Was David Axelrod in any way involved with this recording?

Inquiring just because he was involved with Capitol Records at the time.
