"Dracula" is not Varèse territory.

Would gladly settle (until better sources emerge) for a Remaster of orignal MCA album.

'a double-CD which expanded one beloved Italian score from the early eighties"

Do you think this could be "THE THING"?

The Thing isn't Italian.

Even if it's only a re-transfer and re-equalization of the MCA vinyl master for John Williams' Dracula, I'm in. Though I wouldn't put it past a fine British record company to find alternate tapes or masters for this one; especially with Dutton Vocalion's record for fine sub-licensed re-releases. Let's hope.

Well, at least Son of the Pink Panther is oop for LONG time and need reissue with better sound (and I really don't know how complete it is)! smile

It still doesn't fit the provided clues at all I'm afraid. But YES I agree with you that it needs to happen, being not only a good score but Henry Mancini's LAST score, for Blake Edward's last theatrical film (and the final film in the original Pink Panther series). Perhaps Quartet does have it in the works and we'll see it in 2017...who knows? The original album was on Milan I think, which doesn't usually hold stuff in perpetuity. And I strongly suspect there is more music.

If there's indeed one Morricone title as part of this upcoming batch, could it be the long overdue THE SCARLET & THE BLACK (1983)? Otherwise, there are many other possible contenders such as NANA, LE DESIR (1983), possibly expanded. Let's hope for the best.

I think this would indeed be the most overdue soundtrack from the early 80s from an Italian composer, but unfortunately, it doesn't quite fit the clues.

We have a 3-CD set with three previously unreleased scores from the seventies

The Beguiled, Hit!, Charley Varrick.

CHARLEY VARRICK.................now that would be nice and not before time considering the original score tapes are available.........but I have a feeling no soundtrack label is interested in releasing this outstanding film score and the movie is also one of the best...............

A long shot but what about 'The Swarm' for the remastered expanded score, it has been out of print for sometime!!

Not a bad guess! I figured we were done with Goldsmith for the year, but the last two times I assumed that, it was none other than Quartet who surprised me (with a definitive King Solomon's Mines one year and Total Recall the next.) The popular original LP program has never been commercially released on CD, and I suspect Quartet may be able to improve on the Prometheus complete score presentation as well, as they did with Basic Instinct. Not to mention new packaging and notes! Here's hopin'...

Hehe...I hope/suspect this is MV's way of saying, "Nope, we got it!" Ooohhh I can almost picture the Jim Titus design in my mind's eye... smile

So LLL is releasing THE SWARM then! ;-)

Looking forward to the 2-CD set, including the premiere release of the WB album program! (Just jumping to conclusions!)

I'm almost certainly wrong, but after The Last Valley, I wondered if the out-of-print album might be Mary Queen of Scots.

Probably not, but I share my thought anyway.
