MORE MUSIC has got to be the best reason ever for a release being delayed -- great news Bruce!

Yavar

Yes indeed ! There can be no better reason. And thank you , Bruce, for not keeping us in the dark. You are always available on this board and it is appreciated. James Fitzpatrick is another person who is always available.

Happy to be in his company! smile

For anyone who just looks at these threads and doesn't bother to actually listen to the audio samples, I'd really recommend it with this one. This is classic Grusin during his absolutely best period and just prior to Tootsie, I think.

It's like Paternity - some people are just so stubborn and set in their ways they won't even listen to it. It's David Shire for heaven's sake - that should be the end of that story, and yet, people just get in these little dig in your heels for silly reasons modes and miss out on some truly incredible music. I'll just say that Nick Redman will tell you that Paternity has been one of his most played CDs this year - it's rarely been out of his player. And he's right about it - it's amazing, just as Falling in Love is amazing.

And our other release - not a soundtrack, but most of the songs are theater-related and should be of any interest at all - all the songs are by ME smile Read about it below.

SANDY BAINUM – IT MIGHT BE FUN

Two Roads sounds GREAT. I can't believe I still haven't ordered the sheet music (so I can record my own uke version).

EDIT: Okay, the rest of the samples sound pretty great, too...

This, of course, makes me deliriously happy. This album was so much fun to do - to have Lanny Meyers at the top of his game, finding the heart and soul of these songs as if they were his own - it was just magical in the studio. The songs on this album span almost my entire life from teen to now - from when I first began writing in 1963 to this year.

The dramatic passages sound very nice.

Tootsie was 82? I just don't remember it being that early, but I guess it was.

This reminded me that I have it on DVD. I think I'll watch it tonight.

Rewatching the film I had forgotten how little music there in the first 40 minutes of the film. Aside from the use of "Mountain Dance" in the Main Title, there isn't really underscore for the next 30 or so minutes.

It's a real treat that Bruce was able to release this score with all the unused underscore. It might be interesting to see how the original music fits in the film.

Can't wait for the CD.

The funny thing about Mountain Dance in the film - I don't think it works nearly as well as what he actually wrote. Go know.

Paternity is an amazing work by David Shire, one of my favorite CDs of the year.

More Shire ! more Grusin ! more Small !

No Mountain Dance on our CD - just the score as Grusin originally wrote it.

Ah that's sad news. Whilst other CDs often cram in every unnecessary creek and flutter ever recorded for something, this CD doesn't have the track I have been looking for so long. It would have been nice to have had it all bundled on one release ("Take two bottles into the shower? Not me, I just want to wash and go").

What's the reason for leaving it of? Rights issues or a fundamental decision to "keep it pure"?

Try Grusin's albums Mountain Dance, Cinemagic, Dave Grusin Collection, Dave Grusin Priceless Jazz.

It's definitely out there!

All of the above. And Mountain Dance is readily available in many places.

I'm also wondering how fast FALLING IN LOVE is selling - are you nearly sold out, Bruce, or is there a chance this will still be around for a few weeks?

We have about 150 left - so should be here at least another week or two. BTW, it should be shipping tomorrow or Wednesday.
