French composer Georges Delerue composed the beautiful music for the 1968 British film, INTERLUDE.

Pianist Mike Farrell sight-reads the sheet music,

Here is a link to a checklist of Sheet Music from which this was chosen.

So glad you are enjoying this series.

Clearly this was a labor of love by a group of us who wanted to share our fun and joy with others.

The day in the studio goofing around, plowing through piles of esoteric music, discovering little gems (and some truly horrible attempts at turning great tunes into pop songs) was something silly and special for all of us.

Everyone there that day makes their living working hard as professional artists striving to achieve perfection. Taking away the pressure of trying to make a product to sell and worrying about wrong notes or off-pitches or going back for additional takes allowed us to just to play around with each other.

It was like a party in a musical sandbox without any pressures of getting anything "right." Just grabbing some music, sight reading it, having fun with improv and moving on.

It was great to capture our little party on video and wonderful to be able to share it with others who might be interested in experiencing some of our extemporaneous discovery and joy.
