Coming the end of July or early August from Monstrous Movie Music: DATE BAIT and HIGH SCHOOL CAESAR by Nicholas Carras, and HIGH SCHOOL BIG SHOT by Gerald Fried! SOUND SAMPLES: http://www.mmmrecordings.com/Audio_Samples/Music-1979-HighSchoolCaesar-medley.mp3 http://www.mmmrecordings.com/Audio_Samples/Music-1978-DateBait-medley.mp3 http://www.mmmrecordings.com/Audio_Samples/Music-1979-HighSchoolBigShot-medley.mp3 This amazingly cool 2-CD set contains the complete scores from three juvenile delinquent films of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Complete with Big Band-influenced rock and roll, blues, rock, swing, crazy bongo beats, and lots of exhilarating film music, this audio extravaganza is the perfect antidote when you’re feeling like Squaresville, man. High School Big Shot (written and directed by Joel Rapp) is a teenage film noir that benefits mightily from the superb economical score by Gerald Fried. Both Date Bait (starring Gary Clarke) and High School Caesar (starring John Ashley) sport Nicholas Carras scores, and they will bring out the troubled teen in you -- regardless of your age! There’s almost 120 minutes of music to savor, including the rockin’ title songs from Date Bait and High School Caesar. Gerald Fried and Nicholas Carras will have your pointy-toed shoes tapping, and you'll be looking over your shoulders for flashing switchblades as you enjoy the non-stop excitement! This release features a 28-page liner book crammed full of detailed information and stupid jokes!

Oh man, that's great! I've always loved the scores to 1950s and early '60s juvenile delinquent films. I even put together my own compilation CD of highlights from those kind of films. Your CD is definitely ordered! I've seen all of these films and love the hip music. If you ever do more in this area, please consider Ronald Stein's GIRLS IN PRISON, THE DIARY OF A HIGH SCHOOL BRIDE, and DRAGSTRIP GIRL. Also, Richard LaSalle's NAKED YOUTH is pretty wonderful, incorporating rip-offs (or shall we say "homages") to MAN WITH THE GOLDEN ARM and VERTIGO. And yes, of course, other people have mentioned John Williams' DADDY-O, which is another gem. I could go on and on about JD scores, but instead, let me say that your new release makes my day. Thanks for putting out something so obscure. I hope other people will just take the plunge and buy this CD, even if they don't know the films. I think they'll be happy they did.
