The complete series for $30 dollars! I'm tempted to get it because I don't own this on disc and I've only seen the shortened syndication versions.

I read the package is pretty crappy. Basically the discs are just one on top of the other in a spindle. Also there's a question of picture quality as they put three hours of content on each disc.

http://www.amazon.com/King-Queens-Complete/dp/B005D0OHA6/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1379166056&sr=1-1

Still at $30 dollars might be worth the price. Can always upgrade later when and if it comes out in HD.

Apparently it's out on BluRay in Germany! eek

This is available on Blu-ray in the states now too! I didn't like the show at first, but it has grown on me and I quite enjoy it now.

This is a super funny show. One of my all time favorites. I owned the complete series DVD set and sold it when the BD came out. Now I have read mixed reviews of the blu-ray release. Not full length episodes, not all episodes are in HD quality? I am on the fence now of which one to own.

When did this get a Blu Ray release in the states? I looked this up on Amazon and there's several different versions available. Annoyingly the specs don't mention the region code and the reviews are for the DVD set.

I don't understand why they wouldn't have full episodes. I can understand some episodes not being in HD, or I assume they're up-scaled, because I don't believe the first few seasons of KOQ's were shot in HD.

Love the show though. Its a tie with Seinfeld as my favorite "modern" comedy.

Need more info!

Solium, Mill Creek released this about a couple of years ago. I assume Mill Creek received these prints from Sony so they can be in HD. You're right, I think the first couple of seasons might have been taped in SD. Anyway here is a great review from Cereal At Midnight and you can decide if its worth the cost.

Thanks for the info- To be honest I really can't tell the difference between the DVD and Blu Ray screen caps. Though like he said, with video compression and all I'm probably not seeing the real difference.

Interesting that Inner Tube is missing the animated sequence. I wonder if there's some technical or rights issues with that scene? Frankly I hate Inner Tube, its my least favorite episode so the fact it's missing a scene is no big deal to me. I dislike all the KOQ's flashback episodes immensely. They're practically the only bad episodes in the series run.

As far as the widescreen revealing things that are not supposed to be on camera I remember one or two episodes where a boom was visible from the top. So I don't think opening up the matte is revealing things that weren't already there. I clearly remember another episode where an actor was waiting outside the garage door for his cue to enter. Another episode or two you could see the edge of the kitchen and living room set where it meets the sound sage. There are quite a few framing goofs in KOQ's. These things happen.

I think the price is 50% less than it was a few years ago so probably worth picking up now.

I don't feel quite as strongly about it as you, but yes -- they're my least favourite part of the show too.

So I got the Blu-ray set! I'm going through it, and am enjoying it. It's got pretty good extras, it's in 1.78:1 and DTS!

I recently binged the Netflix show THE CREW, just to get my Kevin James fix, but it's very disappointing. Even moreso than KEVIN CAN WAIT, which at least had some great moments (and Leah Remini back).

THE KING OF QUEENS is what will be on James' gravestone (perhaps with the first PAUL BLART movie in parenthesis, that was fun). All the stars were aligned on that one. Not least because they had the genius that was Jerry Stiller in the cast. I think I've seen all the bloopers from the show that are available on Youtube, but I wonder if this set has more? As I've seen every single episode 3-4 times each (the show is still syndicated over here), I'm desperately looking for more bloopers, especially involving Stiller.

This is very common. Lightning in the bottle. He had one great role and character his entire career. While I lMAO when I watch KOQ's nothing else he's done even gets a smile out of me. Alan Alda from M.A.S.H is another example.
